Thinking of buying a JR Vibe 50 V3D. Is it worth it? I've only owned two types of helis until now:90-sized glow helis, 90-sized electrics, and smaller-sized electrics (e.g. Align T-Rex and smaller).I've never owned a 50-sized glow heli. From what I can tell, they're not particularly capable--i.e. not like their larger 90-sized glow counterparts. Is the Vibe 50 V3D different? Or would I notice a step down in performance over my 90-sized glow helis? |

The 50 is not in the 90 class, but with the new OS 55HZ I'll say go for it...------------------------------------ www.carifuna.com |

The 50 is no 90 but...50 is surely a much more economical way to practice 3D. Much less fuel burned and cheaper crashes. That said, I think you will love the Vibe 50 (dont really see how you couldnt). It flys light but tracks like a freight train. Quality is 2nd to none.As far as athe capability of a 50, they can do everything a 90 can do but you dont have quite as much power and it doesnt have the presence of a 90 in the air. A 50 will definatly hone your collective management skills.I would go for it, everyone should have a 50. |

+1 on all the above. The Vibe 50 is a great 50 size heli. Doesn't need any upgrades and I like the way it tracks. I like flying it a little more than my N9. |

How do you deal with the extra pound of weight on the Vibe vs. the other two? I hear it doesn't really feel heavier in the air except for the autos. I'd be interested in hearing your thoughts on how each flies, pros, cons, etc. It's probably a little rare that a person has these three to compare. |

I recently sold my Vibe 50 and kept my T-Rex 600Nitro Pro. The Vibe is much heavier and you can feel that when it is in the air. Nice solid machine, I just couldn't beat it around the air like I can with my 600. I would definately try the new 55 engine. Probably give it the power it needs. It's a complex, costly, glow powered anti-gravity machine! |

I find the 50 sized helis have more "fun factor" due to their smaller size and investment. I can certainly recommend a 50 nitro heli to add to your fleet. The question is then which one. The favorites at our field are the Vibe 50, Knight K3D and Velocity. The velocity seems like a good value kit as you get 2 canopies and outrage muffler included, at least you do in the UK currently. I have the other 2 helis and like them both.Vibe 90, Vibe 50, Vigor CS x2, Dyna-x, Knight 503D, Logo 10, TRex 500, Furion, Gaui EP200 |

I agree that everyone should have a 50 in their fleet. Much cheaper than any 90 in crashes and you can push the envelope a bit more for that reason. Plus, they're a bit smaller, so you can end up having more helis in your fleet without the wife or GF noticing the space taken up by the 90's. Haha. The Vibe 50 is a great machine and has become a mainstay in my fleet of helis. I have my Align 600, but there is no comparison between the two in any way, starting with build quality. The Vibe's build was accurate and just amazing, to say the least. The head was spot-on and needed no linkage adjustments upon completion. Followed the manual to a tee and everything was right-on. Even tracked perfectly first flight! That's unheard of in any Align kit that I've ever owned.Flying characteristics are fantastic. A bit heavier in the air, but I personally like that because it is predictable and not overly quick and twitchy, yet it can be insane if you set it up "hotter". Tracks like an arrow in FFF and is built solid enough to take a crash in the event that you do that sort of thing. Haha.Overall, you will not go wrong going with the Vibe 50 and I'm sure it will also become one of your main flying helis if you so choose to get one. Is it worth it? Depends on what you are looking for.IMO.....If you want to understand what tracking is all about with a 50 sized heli. The Vibe 50 is the ticket.Just put an OS55 or YS56 in it, and you will be good to go.Old Guys Rule! |
