Hi-res images of DX7 Heli switches and labels Can someone do me a favour and take some nice pictures of their DX7 Heli Tx switches and in particular the labels?I have been given a DX7 Acro as a gift so can't (or more specifically don't want) to say no. But i would like to move the switches to the 'correct' heli positions so that they are more in line with what they should be before muddling my brain up with different layouts.I intend on swapping out the switches that are wrong (as i understand it the flap mix and gear switches need to be swapped on my Tx) and printing some new labels on vinyl adhesive and overlaying them on the original ones so that it looks half decent too. Thanks in advance. |

just need to swap the two position and three position switch so your idle-up 3 position switch is on the top/left (assuming mode-2). Also helpful to flip over the throttle tension tab so the throttle is smooth. or put a piece of fuel tubing over the tab which is what I do to ratcheting throttle radios. |

Yeah i've already removed the ratchet so that i have a smooth throttle and i'll be popping in a few bearings to replace the loose bushings too i think. Might even get around to fitting a power led while i'm at it but no guarantees on my motivation there.I really just want the pics so that i can make new appropriate labels on the body of the tx for while i'm learning about the nuances of heli flight. |

It's all a matter of personal preference, but I wonder what the big deal is about moving the switches. Smooth throttle ratchet sure, but...I currently use a DX7 air to fly my EXI 450 heli. I've had dedicated "heli" radios before - Esky King RTF tx, DX6 heli, Eclipse 7 heli, DX6i...My last two radios have been a JR 8103 air and my current DX7. I immediately preferred the flight mode switch on the front left face of the tx (same place on the JR and DX7).It's out of harm's way and in a spot where I have to WANT to hit it to do so. Throttle hold is in the same place as the other radios, as are the dual rate/expo switches.I'm not trying to change anyone's mind about the DX7's switch positions. By all means, swap 'em and relabel 'em. Modding stuff is half the fun in this hobby. In was going to swap the switches in the JR until I gave it a try and found I liked it better. You may not.I've seen people turn down AWESOME deals on DX7's and other radios because they were the "wrong" version. That's fine. That's how I got mine for $100 including a hard case.A soul in tension is learning to fly |
