Understand that the 8717 servos eats up a lot of amps..therefore it is safe to use the A123?

Most A123's have a 60C-80C discharge rate. Higher then other types of batterys. The 8717s work just fine with a A123. I use about 2000 MaH with my 8717s on a 50 in 6 flights. I dont use A123 but many friends do and they work just fine with these servos. They really arent as "hungry" of a servo as people make them sound.

I use A123 and get about 40 minutes of flight time before recharging putting about 1900-2000mah back into them. This is on a 90 too.
