somethins' funny with this AR6100
I have AR6100s on 5 or 6 helis but this one is acting funny. I'm building another Trex 450 (LIKE I NEED ANOTHER ONE) and am almost through with the build. The light on the new AR6100 that sometimes blinks and sometimes is solid (after electronics initialize). Everything seems to work even when blinking. I've bound and re-bound this rx several times. Another quirky thing is that sometimes the servo in the AUX 1 channel twitches and won't move and sometimes it seems fine (on the bench). I don't want to fly this new bird until I figure out what the blinking and twitching is about. Any ideas?

I don't know about the twitching, check all your connections or suspect the servo would be my first guess.

BUT the blinking is most likely normal, it's a feature of the newer software on the RX called quick connect. If you power cycle the RX without power cycling the TX then the RX recognizes that it lost communication with the TX and the TX is never lost power so it quickly re-establishes link and starts blinking to let you know that this happened. The idea is you should *always* ensure you have a solid light before flying. If the RX is blinking when you land then you most likely had a 'brown out' where the voltage got too low and the RX rebooted. The first generation software did not have this feature and could take up to 3 seconds to re-establish link. You are usually in the dirt by then and no indication what happened as everything appears to be working just fine.

And I tested your theory before I even read your post. I accidentally discovered that if the tx was turned off and back on before powering up the rx you get the solid light. So I believe you are correct jschenck, thanks. And also probably correct about the new HS-65mg servo being defective. I appreciate your keen insight.
