Writing about a controversial subject ideas if you were a junior in high school taking advanced placement english and had to spend the school year writing about a controversial subject as one of your key assignments, what would it be?what controversial subject might you write about? the more controversial the better.this is an actual project assigned to my daughter's class.could be interesting.let's hear your ideas. |

You want controversy? Mnutts:
Have your daughter read ROMANS, Chapter One, you know (Maybe),
the Chapter where the Creator of the universe tells mankind
how delightful are His Creatures, the highest ever made, in
Man and Woman. Where Marriage AND children, procreation are
given as a gift to humankind. BUT, How The Creator doesn't
Particularly appreciate when two of a kind lie together for
sexual intercourse.Wait... How old is your little learner? This might be TOO CONTROVERSIAL.....OK, in rethinking this - lets go with:"DID Jesus REALLY rise from the Grave?"Yeah, this is much better.Peace..I love gravity, it always keeps my feet planted when I fly! |

if you were a junior in high school taking advanced placement english and had to spend the school year writing about a controversial subject as one of your key assignments, what would it be? The state of the public education system. I wrote a paper on this many years ago for college that my professor called "scathing" and I got a perfect score which meant something in his class. But in a high school setting, the paper would probably be considered controversial by the teacher. Plus it's nice to aim a controversial subject right at the heart of the person asking for it. I wish I could find that paper. I seriously doubt things have gotten any better since I wrote it. |

I had a similar project my freshman year of college. Basically decided to write about the improbability of hydrogen and compared it to more practical plug in hybrid vehicles. Not really your standard controversial issue but i got a solid A on it and got an A in the class. |

I am going to assume it is going to be a position paper?Easiest would be the 2nd amendment. Lots of subject matter and recent SC decisions.Much more difficult would be Roe v Wade. Difficult since it might have to include a religious section.Affirmative action is controversial and has some recent decisions.... But again could back fire. |

Circumcising babies against their will! Let the baby wait until he's 18 before he decides.
I guarantee that there will be a significant decline in the popularity of circumcisions. ▲ ▲ ▲ |

the god idea is a good one.second amendment too.we may tend to lean toward the state of public education.it would be kind of ironic since my daughter takes all ap and pre-ap courses, makes great grades, and doesn't make it look that hard to do.she's not a bad golfer either. she played on the team her freshman and sophomore year but got out this year due to a heavier course load with all the ap classes.the schools have had to dumb down material for the slow ones to a point were a reasonably sharp kid can sail thru with honors with just a reasonable amount of effort.so they are saying god might have been an alien? interesting. maybe sitchin was onto something."do I need to set my gyro and tail linkage up in rate mode first?" yes |

Have you seen the Gardasil commercials with all the teenage girls saying "I'm one less"?Gardasil is a vaccine that is supposed to prevent the HPV (human papillomavirus) virus, and is apparently very controversial. The governor of Texas tried to make the vaccine mandatory, but that was overturned. Many people are against the idea of making it mandatory for some reason I don't know. ▲ ▲ ▲ |
