Easiest way is to use quickUK raptor 90 grips, drop in replacement, geometry will be pretty perfect.

I am using the RJX head on my Strat with a Skookum. It is a BEAST, I love it! I have always been happy with my Strat just wanted to try it. With the RJX I had to drill a new hole for the Jesus bolt location on the main shaft (helps having a buddy who is a machinist).Hello, my name is Tony and I'm a heli addict...

Below. The stock location is pretty close to the top, but the hole in the head block sits low, so if you use the existing holes the main shaft is only in the block a tiny bit. What we did was install the head axle and then slid the main shaft in till it hit the axle and backed off 2-3mm. This secures the main shaft but leaves precious little room for swash plate movement. The swash follower is basically up against the head block to make more room, this really isn't a problem.
As a side note I ended up swapping the BW bellcranks for standard bell cranks to increase my servo travel. My initial setting on the Skookum were like 25pitch, 42ail./ele. After putting on the standard bellcranks the mix came up quite a bit. The 8717s seemed to handle the low travel just fine but I figured it couldn't be good for them after a while.
Hope this helps.

I replaced the 3D arms with the FAI pitch arms, and the swash driver is a Mikado 10mm. Everything else is stock. You can do the same with the 3D pitch arms if you want.

What did you use for the standoffs off the arms? I used longer ball ends, but I dont like it b/c the links arent locked in and MAY pop off.

I used the FAI pitch arms and the negative delta spacers. I'm not sure of the part numbers, but a schematic drawing of the Tempest head on the MA website will list them.

I prefer this arrangement because with the pitch arms, the links could possibly pop off the balls at high collective/cyclic angles. However, I have heard of many people doing the conversion with the stock Tempest 3D head and had no problems. Another benefit to using the 3D head for the conversion is you can add spacers to get the ideal angle between the swash and the pitch arms. With the FAI pitch arms, the angle is a little less than ideal.
