Okay I bought a T-Rex 500 Now What 6S Batteries/Motor are the Cats?
Bought the T-Rex 500 ESP. What are your suggestions for best batteries for this machines. I run 4S TP's on my 450 with a Neu 1107-2Y. Might buy a Neu for this machine before using the Align motor it shipped with.. unless the Align is worth a try.

What are your ideas?

Thanks..

The 35C Hyperions seem to be pretty good. Give the stock motor a shot. With good packs it will put out plenty of power. When you get bored with it, I have a 1400 Scorpion I'll sell you to really wake it up

Don't waste your time with any other battery other than the Hyperion VX packs! They are the best and while yes they will be a bit more of an investment initially they will pay for themselves in the long run.

And the stock motor is great. I have over 300 flights on mine and its still going strong.

2500, 2600 and 2650. I also run a few 3000s but I prefer the lighter batteries.

Yet to be proven. That is the 200 cycle guarantee or similar.

$155* for the 35C Hyperion, or $60 for the 30C Turnigy...easy decision for me.

Let's pretend you only get 50 cycles out of your Turnigy before it gives up the ghost...and you're Hyperion gets you 100.

EVEN at that scenario, the Turnigy is still cheaper. (Hyperion gets 2X cycles, $60 X2= $120)

Add to this you're flying around a $155 lipo on your Trex 500, which is bound to meet the Terra Firma and crush the lipo.

Can anyone debate this? NOW, if you add in the "Can't wait" shipping that is $29, you're looking at only a $65 dollar difference, which isn't too bad.

What Trex 500 lipo cost 260 dollars I have 2 Hyperion 35C 2600 lipos and they were 120 bucks each.

Have you tried that pack in a Trex 500? It is pretty big and won't fit without modifying the battery tray or canopy for bigger lipos. My buddy flies them in his Logo 400 and they are considerably larger than the 2600 packs.

The Hyperion 35C 2600 pack is the perfect size/shape for the Trex 500 IMO.

Although I don't recommend them, the Outrage 6S 3000 packs fit perfectly. No mods necessary.Life is tough, it's tougher if you're stupid

Theres also the zippy flightmax 2650 30c packs I think are in stock if the Turnigy are sold out, I would be willing to bet there the same packs with a different label, I would say Ive got close to 50 cycles on my Turnigies now and there brand new still, I dont understand when people talk 50 cycles, at 50 cycles my packs wouldent even last 1 - 2 months as I fly most days, it would make it completely impractical.

Ive only had 1 pack that only lasted 2 months and I consider it to be a faulty unit.

Most of my packs lost the majority of their punch around ~50 cycles. So far I have run 2 25C Flightpower 2600s, 4 Outrage 25C 2500s, 2 Outrage 25C 3000s, 1 25C Thunder Power 2600 and 1 30C Outrage 2500 in my 500 and only 3 of those lipos are still working good enough to 3D for any longer than 2 mins without bogging out of the sky. Most of them have around 50 cycles or less but they are close to a year old. None of them have ever been discharged past 75% or abused in any way.... and unfortunately none of them have anywhere close to the power they had when they were new.

Now I have 2 Hyperion 35C 2600s and a Thunder Power 45C 2650 that I am trying... my fingers are crossed

Lipos suck, I am really hoping these new ones last longer

This is my buddies Hyperion 6S 2600mah 35C VX G3 after about 30cycles. One of the cells has become seriously unmatched. But he does abuse the pack quite a bit, e.g. hard 3D flying on Scorpion 1400kv, and sometimes comes down 3.6+v per cell. And he charges at 7amps. There was another pack, only few cycles young, he pushed it until 3.4+v, the pack came down bloated!

Its true Im flying harder (tic tocs e.t.c) in the last few months than I have over the past few years with most of my packs, Im in uncharted waters at the moment as Ive been flying a 500e as a post to the 600e on 6s, my packs still seem good so far going on 2 - 3 months but they could drop away tommorow, who knows.
Im sure if I was to dish out the same amount of abuse to a new 6s pack with my 600e as what Im doing with this 500e the packs probly would be completely puffed long before 50 cycles.

Thats photo above sais it all really when it comes to electrics.
