DIY Fan hub puller

In the frustrating quest to remove the fan/hub from my engine I only found 1 thread while searching so thought I would share what I did.
Mine was on REALLY good. Could hardly budge it and it was almost impossible to pull and turn at the same time.

Items needed:

(2) 4mm x 35mm bolts
(1) 7/16 x 2" bolt
(1) 7/16 nut
(1) 7/16 washer

The 700 clutch
Channel locks or BIG open face wrench.
Socket and socket wrench of course also.

The process:

A whole 10 seconds

After screwing in the 4mm bolts all the way down, simply hold the nut with pliers and turn the bolt in.

Total cost $3.64 and 10 seconds of time.

that's pretty good, I was thinking about making something just like that but using a plate I made rather than the clutch. A broken clutch work work just fine, I here there are plenty out there

Good idea.

My lazy-man method for those without the hardware: Stick two extra* 4mm socket head cap screws in the hub, then lower the screw heads into a vice so that the hub rests squarely on top of the vice. Tighten the vice on the screws. With a crank lock in the engine, rotate the engine while pulling and slowly remove the hub from the crank-shaft. Voila....

* = non flying screws, cause the vice is gonna chew them up a bit.

This works for me, but your idea is a little classier.
