DX7 TX. Battery upgrade to what?
I am getting a bit tired with the run time of the standard DX7 battery.
I would like to know the best options to replace.I would like to use the mains trickle charger the shop supplied with the TX.It is a protech item.I always presumed this was ok for nimh and have no idea of the output voltage.

There are a few posts about battery upgrades on the forum, some guys have opted for lipos in the tx. I went the more simple route of Sanyo Enelope cells. The 2200ma pack is the same size as the original spektrum.

They are NiMh cells but they don't lose there charge when not in use. (so the manufacturer says). They certainly hold up pretty good!

Cheers

You can do the DX6/7 regulator mod. I did the mod and use the Sanyo Enelope cells. The battery lasts a long long time. Doing both was a little over kill but I had done the mod to my old DX6 and decided to move the mod over to my DX7. Charge once every two to four months depending on how much I get to fly.

eneloop IMO
I've had eneloop in my x9303 and 12x now for this season and I'm very happy. I haven't charged my X9303 in a month prior to finally have to today . the 12x is more power hungry and I need to every week or two, if I fly 2-3x's a week.

I fly on average 3 times a week. I am still using the battery that came with the Tx 2-1/2 years ago and the Wall Wart charger. Never felt any need to upgrade, sort of "don't fix what ain't broke."

You want the new 9.9 volts life batts from hyperion made for jr, spektrum, it's 2200 mah and you can charge at 4.8 amps.
I just replaced and so far just can't believe how long it keeps charge at 10v on the transmitter.
Common sense may not be common after all

I know this is an old thread but it works really good. Rick H Has a great idea here and its working wonders. Im getting 3 times the battery life in my dx7 by changing out the stock regulator for 16.00 replacement regulator. Again thinks soooo much....Clint

LiPo upgrade for a Spectrum DX6i
Is there any way to replace the 4 NiMH batteries in the DX6i with a LiPo battery? The 4 NiMH at 1.2v per cell = 4.8v and I haven't found a LiPo at that voltage yet. Will the $16 regulator mod work for this???
