Carter: Rep. Wilson comments 'based on racism'
Not sure if this has already been posted. What do you guys think?

http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20090916...heckling_carter

I think Wilson was VERY STUPID and VERY disrespectful in saying what he said, but I can't go as far as Carter did in claiming him a racist.

You also have people who think that opposition to extreme left ideaology is racist. And opposition to congressional spending is racist.

Come on!

So you are trying to tell me that the reason there is so much opposition is because we have a black president. That opposition to health care, spending, government corporate takeovers, the worst economy in generations, all has NOTHING to do with true opinion. That it would be completely accepted if the president were white. Are you nucking futs?

Yes there are racists out there, but come ON! Focus on the issues and drop the race card.

Yeah here comes the coward's retort: racism

It won't work any better than anything else so far

I think Carter has been watching too much TV, all the alphabet networks have been discussing the same talking point, that being the convenient demonization of the opposition as racist. When they say it enough times, dopes like Carter see it as a reality.
keepin' it real

fwiw..

I, for one, applaud Mr Wilsons' action. Truth to Power only works one way, according to the Left.
As far as respect goes, a title dosen't vest one with the character to be respected.
Mr. Carters' response was so predictable, almost requires no comment..
If I were him, I'd be in fear of losing the mantle of "Worst President in History" to the upstart...

BTW....Isnt' 'bammy half white?...Guess it'can only be a half racist comment then...

Glad the wheels are comin' off the bus.....

Just shows the typical ignorance of people like carter and obama and thier supporters. Everything is racists to them. The ones that scream it first are the ones that are racists.

We need more like wilson to stand up and say enough is enough and call these idiots out on thier lies.

But, Obama is half white. There were questions about whether or not he was black enough. I am hollering at the white half, not the black half. As a white person I can holler all I want at the white half, that is not racist.

Watch at YouTube

St Louis Today

A student on a Belleville West High School bus was beaten for his choice of seat, not because he was white, according to a witness and police.

"The incident appears now to be more about a couple of bullies on a bus dictating where people sit," said Belleville Police Capt. Don Sax, who originally said Monday's attack may have been racially motivated.

OCB,

2 wrongs don't make a right.

It just is so biased to show Rush being racist in response to this, as if that somehow justifies Jimmy Carter's stupid comments.

It's like the 5 year old kid who gets busted for beating a dog. "But the other kids were doing it." Doesn't excuse it.

Sorry, not going to work. Rush was wrong, Jimmy was wrong. End of story.

So many people excuse behavior from their own political party that they do not condone in the opposing party. Being in the middle as I am helps you to see the BS perpetrated by BOTH parties.

And some people like to show parts of things completely out of context to support their own bigotry.

White House throws Carter under the bus on race comments
Posted at 5:45 pm on September 16, 2009 by Allahpundit

Not the first time Jimbo’s caused The One some grief at an inopportune moment. Remember when he decided to go hug it out with Hamas just as the general election campaign was kicking off last year?
“The president does not believe that — that the criticism comes based on the color of his skin,” Gibbs said. “We understand that people have disagreements with some of the decisions that we’ve made and some of the extraordinary actions that had to be undertaken by this administration and previous administrations to stabilize our financial system, to ensure viability of our domestic auto industry.”…

If Rush was wrong then Carter was right.

The above puke from Rush is exactly what Carter was talking about.
Rush can barely make it through an entire show without saying something racist. The fact that he constantly repeats he's not racist means nothing and if he didn't keep saying racist things, there would be no need for denial.

His hate speech empowers others to go out to rallies and push the race issue as long as THEY repeat his standard disclaimer.

Yes Rush speaks for all of us,just as Pelosi speaks for all of you. Your close minded thought processes actually make my brain hurt. The truly stupid in this world are the ones who can't listen to both sides and decide for themselves

I don't follow this. Even if Rush were a member of the KKK it could not make Carter's implication that everyone who is upset about current government direction are doing so because they are racist.

People are upset because they fear we are spending out of control, the economy is horrible, unemployment is high, and the government wants to expand social programs even more which creates more spending. That's all. Nothing racist.

Even if there are some racists AMONG those protesting it STILL wouldn't make Jimmy Carter correct.

I still say two wrongs don't make a right. Rush Limbaugh wears his bigotry on his sleeve often, but he doesn't speak for everyone who is concerned with the country's direction. Just because you hear HIS voice on the radio doesn't make all those people his minions. He doesn't even hold a position in the party. I'd compare him with Jon Stewart, who certainly doesn't speak for all left wingers.

But his wrong doesn't make Jimmy right. You are going to have to do a little better at explaining how it does.

Had the first African American president acted just like George Bush, it would likely be the left-wingers protesting then over the war or something else.

And no one would accuse war protesters against a black president as racist. You might accuse them of being pacifist, but certainly not racist.
