Fuel Dye

Where can I get the solvent dye to color my home brew?

With the heli, boat and monster truck, I go through fuel pretty quick and with the price these days of a gallon, I decided to start mixing my own, 15% for the heli, 20% for the truck and 60% in the boat, pre mixed 60% is not cheap!When in doubt, GAS IT! This will either fix the problem or end the suspense.

Never mind on the dye, the Klotz oil Im using gives the fuel enough color.

The recipe is simple:

Nitro: 15% = 19.20oz
Oil: 18% = 23.04oz
Methanol: 67% = 85.76oz
100% = 128oz/ 1gal

The price all depends on how much the nitro runs you. I was able to get nitro for $43/gal at a rc boat race I went to, bought a few gallons. I get the methanol from the local drag strip for $5gal and I use Klotz SuperTechniplate for my oil.

If you went through the bull to get nitro from VP, depending on how far you are from a distributor, it could be $100+. 1 gallon of nitro shipped from the Atlanta distributor to central Alabama would have been $110, $50 for the nitro, $60 for the special shipping.When in doubt, GAS IT! This will either fix the problem or end the suspense.

You can get a sample size of this dye, works great, only need a few
drops (3 or 4) per gallons.
