Better get your flying in during the week after work while you can...daylight is running out..

I enjoy flying after work during the week when my schedule allows and hate to see the seasonal changes bring the shorter days. Unavoidable as it is I thought I would just remind you guys to get in as many of those end of the day flights as you can before it starts to get dark at 4:00 PM. Last season being my first I really didn't know about night flying and was curious if any of you guys have found it to be beneficial in your flying development while you wait for the weekend to roll around. I greatly do not look forward to becoming another weekend warrior through this season's shorter day months and thought it was about time to start doing some nigth flying. Anyone care to comment if it's something they have benefitted from or if it was just more of a novelty...Thanks for reading..

One of the all time "loves to fly" pilots I know is Raja.... and he told me he set up his Trex450 night bird originally just for that reason... to be able to fly in the evenings after work in the winter.

Most of the guys with night birds that fly allot... tell me that once they are used to it (doesn't take long) ... they actually find it easier to see and maintain oriantation at night with their night birds, versus during the day.

Landing seems to be the hardest part... finding the ground right, not slamming it.

No light for me!

When I work I no longer can fly after. It is already too dark by the time I get home to fly (7:30pm) here in Wisconsin!

as far as landing, I grab a box of glow stick from home depot (for some reason a month ago, blockbuster had them for sale for 25 cents a piece so I told them to go in the back and get me every stick they had) and you just throw a few on the ground for landingSrimok, Goblin 770, Avant Aurora, Trex 700 Suzi Hans, 700 LE, 700 FBL, Trex 450 Dominator X2, HC500, and a crap ton of parts with no time to fly! :)

I too have been kicking around the idea of setting up a night flyer. Might have to start working on that again with the season change. Although I do enjoy having the cooler temps.
