Chinese Weight?????????????????????????????????
This may sound dumb to a lot of you guys, but what is chineseweight mod, do you need one on a 500 ? can you buy it? Thanks for your help.

Adding a small amount of weight as shown here:

to either side of the TR grips. It's supposed to help take the load off the servo for better and faster response.

I had LOTS of metric fastiners on hand so I just did it myself by using a long cap head screw (It was at least 20mm+ I think) then added 4 washers and a nylon insert locknut on the other end. I measured the linear force to pull/push the tail rod from to the endpoints at head RPM (with most head parts removed and the heli held down of course)I don't recall the exact #'s off hand but I believe I reduced my linear force to about 1/3 of the original value. If you put too much weight on, it will want to SLAM the pitch to the end points which cause nasty wag. Don't ask my how I know

Lighter CF tail blades help reduce the effect and give better tail control anyway so do that as well.

I've done this to all my 450's including some that started with an analog servo. This mod really shined when I did all the things you want to do to the tail anyway FIRST (High Speed digital tail servo, good gyro with digital mode, CF tail blades, reduce slop). Chinese weights help but it's no substitute (IMHO) for the other things that make a tail hold well.
