OS55HZ here :). Woot!!!

Got my OS55HZ in today. Can't wait to put it in my 2nd Velocity 50 that's due in on Thurday.

Looks like a great motor.

Couple things for people.

the head bolts were needing to be tightened a good 1/8th turn more

The piston skirt comes down past the case, similar to the 91HZ so be very CAREFUL when using a derlin crank lock tool. You'll want the piston at TDC not at BDC to make sure you don't taco the piston.

They are getting them from Hong Kong and Asia which over there the 55 HZ has been out for a couple weeks now.

If it breaks, good luck with warranty from Hong Kong....personally I will wait until Hobbico gets their shipment.

Very true, but I'm not talking just 100% replacement. The past two motors I sent to Hobby Services they determined it was not under warranty, but still gave me free labor and half price on the parts. That's half what I would have paid to fix it myself, or 1/3 the price of a new motor. I still consider that a good service, and worth buying my motor in the US via Hobbico.

yeah I suppose. I prefer to fix it myself I guess if something on my OS breaks. If it had a warranty I would probably send it in again, but last time it was such a hassle for a true/legit warranty issue, they kept trying to deny it. Finally after arguing about it, and me standing firm they fixed it, but they were pretty pissed about it. Fair is fair you know!

Anyway, after that my faith in hobby services went down the crapper. JR/Horizon is so SIMPLE in comparision. So is YS service which have fixed 2 of my motors, one my fault, and one part failure. They ended up covering both even though I would have paid to have the one fixed.

Anyway, I'm excited to try this motor

OS is restoring my faith in them with the 91HZ I have, and now hopefully this sweatheart

I had the same experience last year but they changed this summer. I'm guessing it is the crappy economy and trying to cut costs but now they will look for any reason they can to deny the warranty.
