what is a better buy?
I am ready to move on to nitro after learning how to fly on a blade 400 and want to go for the Raptor 30 or 50 because I hear they are good helis and not as expensive as the Trex - even theough the Trex line is supposedly better.

Would you guys get this OS37 for $350: http://www.runryder.com/t534357p1/

or this os50 for $500 no blades:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dl...T#ht_624wt_1167

I will be using my Spectrum 6 ch that came with my blade...

What is a better buy?

50, and it appears it comes with the blades on the heli, just not the spare set on the desk under the boom.## Inteligence is knowing a tomato is a fruit...Common sense is not putting it in a fruit salad

he wants to hold on to the blades now...

are the electronics better on the 50? is the body on the 50 any bigger, or is it a 30 size frame with a 50 engine?

Basically the 30 and 50 are the same machine. There are some differences between the 30 and 50 such as the clutch and mounts. But you will want a 50. You will outgrow a 30 rapidly and wish you had the power of a 50. Here is a link to help you get started with a Raptor if you decide to go that route...

Great, thanks for that info.

I get it, but I just wanted to see if it was worth the extra $150

The s3050 servos on the 50 are good servos. The DS821ones on the 30 are not recommended for helicopters.
Both have the same gyro and tail servo, so no difference there.
The 50 however has the OS50 hyper motor which for me would seal the sale on its own.
I have seen many people persuaded by model shops to start with a 30 and then be sold all the gear, only to then be disappointed when they have mastered the hovering as they then want the power of a 50.
That is why many more 30's seem to be up for sale and go for less money.
