Death Wag upon full left rudder pyro Can someone tell me what the problem is with my T250 tail? My kit is less than a year old and has about 140 flights with no issues (other than a few crashes).Normal FFF is fine. When I give it full right stick, right hand pyros are fine too. Giving it full left stick however, it will spin a once or twice and then the tail goes NUTS so bad that twice I've crashed while trying to recover/stop the wag.As I said, for at least 130 flights, the tail was fine. I'm not using the HM tail weight mod either. Components are:-Spartan DS 760 gyro
-JR DS290 tail servoAny ideas?DaveDiabolo 700UL / Logo 700 / 600 / 500 / Goblin 500 V-Bar NEO / Oxy 2 / Blade 180CFX / mCPX BL / Nano / V-Control |

Maybe the DS290 doesn't have enough torque to overcome some binding?Avant RC Scorpion Power Systems Thunder Power RC Kontronik Drives |

Thanks Rick and Stuart. It has 1 bearing on the outer side of each tail grip. I don't think (in any OEM changes) there has ever been a bearing on the inner side of each grip. They feel fine with no binding when turning each tail grip by hand with the control rod unattached.Diabolo 700UL / Logo 700 / 600 / 500 / Goblin 500 V-Bar NEO / Oxy 2 / Blade 180CFX / mCPX BL / Nano / V-Control |

What I'm thinking is that it's the side loads that are binding up the tail.Any evidence of the anodizing being rubbed off where the grip mates up to the tail rotor hub..??Rick |

The tail binding sounds like it could very well be my problem but I don't notice any anodizing rubbed off.I did try turning the gain down but that doesn't help. Besides, it flew fine at my original gain setting for over 100 flights. What would be the first thing to try replacing... To check the tail grip bearings, pull out on the tail grips while rotating them. ANY roughness or binding is a sure sign of a bad bearing. |
