I am trying to imagine allowing the pilots to fly full course high speed down the flight line... even if it is way out there past the flight boxes. Seems like it would be very distracting to those flying with-in their flight boxes. Did I understand that right?

I wasn't there... so don't flame me... but I could not imagine allowing that at our funfly... and all that I attend don't seem to allow it either.

We allow the pilot to go way out there in front of themselves/ their box... and even expand a bit (a bit) ... but not take runs down the entire flight line. There is no way even the spotter can tell what the guy 500 ft/ 3 boxes down is planning to do, or is starting to do.

Who's to say the pilot in the box does not want that airspace, if they want to spread their wings a bit. Not everyone is flying 3D at their flight box.

Furyous - I had allot of respect for you giving the money back last week and not demanding your heli back (I hope you did get it back though), you were very curtious in a bad situation and did finally came through (it did take awhile)... but you handled this one not so well. You were dancing around here... and almost seemed to be enjoying it and egging it on. Not Cool

You may be a great guy (I'm sure you are)... and your friends say you are... but I would rather you not fly next to me. This was not cool to start with... and I have a feeling you were showing off. I don't particuarly like having to find the precious spare time to fix a heli... don't want someone else to be working on mine (so if you asked... I would have said "no" )... and if it was me hovering next to you... I would not have been happy to have to rebuild because you got a wild hair up your as*.

Damnit... I told myself I was just going to stay out of this thread... and then I started typing about flight boxes to see if I understood that right.

Do other race car drivers pay for other cars when they get into a crash because they were driving thier line , NO .

I would chaulk it up to chit happens and be glad no one was injured .

That's one reason why I don't like flying with others at small fields . I would be pissed if a 450 crashed into one of my 600's in the air . Best way to prevent it is take to the sky when it's empty .If you're not living on the edge you're just taking up space !

It's all part of the hobby we play in . If it happens it must of been meant to be .

It's easy to set back and judge a video from a computer screen , we wern't there , we don't know what went through the pilots mind or his spotter they may have thought things where just fine and POW .

Oh well make out of it whatever suits ones mind . Most if not all of you guys know there isn't a damned thing you could do if that were you in the situation so why set back and make claims of doing this and doing that when you know the truth says you'll pick up the pieces and go home only to make sure never to take to the air when that guy is around .

If you're not living on the edge you're just taking up space !

Man, either way I would be pissed, even if he paid me for all the repairs. It is a lot of work, not to mention getting it dialed in again. These idiots in here who say "once you are in the air, all bets are off," are just that, idiots! When I drive my car out of the garage all bets aren't off if some loco slams into me because he's speeding. Either his insurance covers it or my insurance covers it then sues him. At least you can send your car to a body shop, with a heli you have to find the time to do it yourself.

All that aside, that was an awesome video! Being a Logo fan, that hurt!Team Sanjel!
