YS 91SR3C and crank pin magnet

I failed to get the spektrum sensor working with this engine even after buying the backplate from the regular YS 91 engine, (non metallic backplate just like OS, regular YS engine etc).

The stock engine has a steel backplate which masks the crank pin magnetic signature.

Upon opening it up again it seems the YS 91SR3C crank "pin" is actually a steel donut, no pin. Whether this is the reason the spektrum sensor fails, or the reason is different, either way, even with the non metallic (alloy) backplate, still can't get flashes with rotation of the crank trying all kinds of positions. With the plate off I can get a flash by getting really close to the crank "pin" but the position is impossible with the plate back on. If anyone else finds a solution that does not involve magnets, please post but I don't think it is possible.

BTW with the AR7100R sensing a magnet on the clutch bell, is there a risk if the clutch is destroyed of not limiting revs?

update: I purchased some tiny magnets from an ebay wargame model supply store, I think they are used to stick warriors to the diorama. Very cheap and tiny, 0.05 gram each! Put two together (because they are so thin) north side up in one of the two clutch bell holes and two the other way around in the other, then filled both holes with epoxy..

now when I spin the clutch bell, the first turn on the red sensor light on the AR7100R and the second turn it off (when the sensor is strapped to the end of the governor sensor arm positioned above the clutch). So the effect is to flash the light in time to the revolutions in the clutch. I hope this will be feeding the right info the the AR7100R!
