Tail issue on my 700 today

Looking for some diagnostic help here. While flying my 700 today the tail started doing very strange things (not holding, 90 degree piro's on its own). Got the bird level and put in an auto only to have the tail take a couple of hard movements again on the way down. My first thought was a stripped tail drive or servo gears but both seem fine (even though I have not been into the servo yet).

Set up is a Solid G with a JR 8900G servo.

Any thoughts???? Has anyone ever had a Solid G fail on them or go intermitent? Same way with the 8900.. Or maybe something else?

I had a similar issue with mine, the tail would kick violently in idle up but it would hold fine in normal mode.

My problem was one of the teeth on the auto gear that drives the TT was missing, i guess it was causing too much vibration for the solid G.AMA # 617778

Can not find any gear damage. Think I will open up the servo and check those gears today.Fly it like you stole it!

I've seen a servo start to do that when too much voltage was going through it. Are you running a stepdown or ~5V regulator on it?

I had the same issue couple of days ago, but my 700 did not stop spinning, the crash is soo bad i cant tell what what the causeIf you aint crashing you aint flyin

I am running the bird on an Arizona regulator, so it should be at 5.1 volts.Fly it like you stole it!
