I switched from JR 9303 to Futaba 10CHG
Best move I ever made.
It feels better, it feels crisper (yeah yeah its all in my head, latency tests are BS lol), it doesnt suffer from static lockout (main reason I started looking away from JR/Spektrum, major crash), it has more features that make sense, it has a back lit display for night flying and the screen wont fog up when it gets humid.
All in all Im happy now.
Just wish that the receivers were easier to get here in Oz.
For the love of the hobby

JR/Spek have been good to me. But their programming blows big fat monkey's. No throttle kill switch, circa 80's throttle trim, yeah, digital trim on throttle is best, I do not care what any JR fan says.

programming is not as easy as Futaba, it just pales in comparison. I love the JR/Spek 2.4 stuff though, its nice, the heli receivers, love them. just what the hobby needs, all in one stuff. Not sure if the 2.4 of JR is as good as Futaba's freq hopping type, heard rumors of serious brown outs in JR stuff. so far no problems for me, but have seen others. Heard rumor that there is a new JR 2.4 freq shift type system coming down the pipe. Not sure if that holds water or not, rumor mill.

All in all, happy with my Spek SE, sold my 9303, for the money doesnt come with enuf nice stuff. DX7 is cheap and does all a heli needs, why spend more unless you need it for a scale ship? I know, I know, if its more money it has to be better.

if you knew what you were talking about you would know how to program a throttle cut

program a throtle to throtle mix and assign it to a free switch

nothing wrong with the spektrum system
Use good batteries and brown outs won't be a problem

Spektrum don't hop unless there is interference and they use a coded signal to send data
unlike the other 2.4 ghz wanna be's

I was thinking of the same thing. I was looking into replacing my 14mz with a 12x. I like the fact that I can use either JR or Spectrum rx's. A friend who has the 12x told me it's lighter and doesn't go through the battery while trying to set-up a heli ala 14mz. I'm still undecided though.

Spektrum does not hop at all. Two channels are chosen when the Tx is powered on and it sticks with those two until the Tx is powered down.

You will find that the JR sets sold OUTSIDE the USA do have a Throttle Cut Switch AND Digital Trims.

It's only Horizon's insistence that these features are not available on their marketed systems.

Spoken like a Canadian.

point is throttle kill should already be there. I own spektrum dummy, but it could be better.

your point, my point, who cares. I get paid to fly UAV's. who cares.

everyone has their thing, good and bad.

That's what throttle hold is for, no matter what type of trim you have.
