Well.. my first experience with the CopterX...After waiting ages and eons to get it (From eHirobo, not CopterX direct), I've been busy since I got it. Today I just assembled it using a CopterX 430XL motor and a CopterX 50amp ESC (package deal). It came with CF blades as well. I assemble everything that needs to be assembled, set true nuetral on all of my servos, get my pitch setup with +/- 14 degrees, get everything as spot on as I can, and go out to spin it up for the first time. I get it at 50% throttle, so blades should be flat, and I get down on the ground to look to make sure they are tracking right before I attempt to take off, in case they are really off.. would rather not chance the boom strike.Everything looks ok. I start to spin up the blades a little more when I hear "POP!". I immediately spin the head down as the heli wobbles to a stop. I inspect the entire heli and can't seem to find anything wrong with it. Then I notice some fibers sticking out of the edge of the blade. One of the CF blades had a section on the very outer tip split at the seam and a few fibres cable out of it. From what I can tell, or my guess, there was a weight inside the blade that ejected... luckily not hitting me, but that's probably what the pop sound was. The ejecting piece caused the balance to be off, causing the main shaft to bend... so now I've got to contact the supplier about the blades that blew up and get some replacement stuff.. blah... I just can't win...
