1. Bob is correct about the autorotation function. If the ESC sees the normal mode output signal at 0 (zero), it'll go back into soft start. Fast ramp up after exiting hold will only occur with entry back to idle up with the throttle ooutput signal above zero. The first point for the hover mode is 0 percent to arm the controller. From there, it can be 25 or so percent straight across.

2. Randy, I don't have much option for changing vertical CG. I may play with angling the rear battery up as Hirobo is doing. The press to do so is minimal since the model rolls quite axially.

Rapidity,
Yes I already calibrate the throttle endpoint of the radio. BTW, the event occured when I switched from idle up1 to normal flight mode. Nothing to do with autorotation function.

Dr. Ben,
my throttle curve in normal mode is 0% at the first point then 25% from point 2 to 17. the throttle curve for idle up1 is stright line 65%.
I switched from idle up1 to normal at middle stick soo about point 8,9 or 10 so the ESC did not sees 0% point.
Therefore, how come the motor come to a complete stop from set rpm idel up1 to set rpm normal mode?

Thanks and regards,

There's quite a difference in your endpoints if you calibrate without the auto function enabled and with the auto function enabled.

Feri,

Can you repeatedly duplicate the problem on the ground with the blades off? Has everything been working correctly up until this past week(end)? Did you change ANYTHING in the ESC or transmitter configuration prior to it happening.

Dear Dr. Ben,

I didn't change anything to the ESC program or radio set up.
Unfortunately I have not had this problem before as I always fly F3C schedule with autorotation at the end of the schedule. This is the first time I switched from idle up 1 to normal mode.

I will simulate your suggestion this week end. Will advise you later.

Thanks and regards,
Ferri

Fine.

Pull the blades off and duplicate it on the ground. I don't want to hear a story about a crashed VPUS.

I planing to move from 10T(0414-403) to large dia 12T(0414-330)for more area in gear mesh.( we stripped our 95T )

12T there are 3 variants
1. 0414-330 E3 Clutch Bell with gear 12T
2. 0414-187 Clutch Bell with 12t Pinion
3. 0414-374 W-Brg Clutch Bell W/Gear 12t

a) Request to post a pinion picture of 0414-330 or mail me ( puneetp at gmail com).

b) I am assuming that the threading is the same for all 3 pinions ( am using rudie's conversion , threading it on to 10T (0414-403))

c) Can some one explain difference between 0414-187 and 0414-330 ?

I know the diff between 374 and E3's 330 in terms of larger dia and no compromise on teeth placement.

thanks
Puneet

Punnet,

a) Request to post a pinion picture of 0414-330 or mail me ( puneetp at gmail com).

>>Any particular detail? The overal dimensions except for the diameter of the pinion are the same as the Freya EVO 414-187 pinion/bell assembly. Here's a pic of the 414-403 E3 assembly:

b) I am assuming that the threading is the same for all 3 pinions ( am using rudie's conversion , threading it on to 10T (0414-403))

>> Correct.

c) Can some one explain difference between 0414-187 and 0414-330 ?

>>Nothing excpet for the pinion itself. The E3 pinion has thicker, chisel-shaped teeth which require more pinion diameter to fit around the diameter of the pinion's neck. The bell itself is the same as the one you have.

anyone knows when Hirobo's own electric conversion package will come out? Will MRC carry it? Just curious on how much this thing will cost.

Fred,

I believe it's slated for release late this spring @ the May trade show in Japan. I'm certain the MRC will be happy to order for anyone asking. Price was tba as of the Nurenburg trade show.

Dear Dr. Ben,
I have simulated my problem without blades. Found the system works perfectly. It turned out that my oneway bearing of my auto hub was broken. That caused the rotor head stuck and not turning.

After changing the the bearing, the ESC works perfectly from idel up to normal without stopping the blades.

Thanks for your suggestions.

Ferri

Mine was the old torrington hubs.
My E3 now offcially an Electric F3C machine minus oily mess after flight.
Now I'm building E3 SWM. Too bad I can't use the upper bearing block.
