If you use a simple two position toggle to flip between HH and rate, the ATV of that channel will adjust the gain. One side will adjsut gain for rate, and the other side will adjust heading hold. You'll find that the percentage of the ATV for the HH side will roughly correspond to some of the gains you've seen mentioned in this forum. Start with something around 40%. It depends A LOT on the t/r servo as to the amount of gain you CAN run and SHOULD run since, for example, a conventional corelss servo won't tolerate as much gain as a brushless servo. Just please don't take some arbitrary value that happened to be applicable for ONE model, ONE servo, and ONE flying style to be the gospel for yours and every other installation. Optimize the gyro for your model and ask me for help if you need guidance in doing so.
