I picked up a G3 VX 2200mha 35c lipo the other day just because it could be charge at 5c. I really like it, charge time @ 4c is about 15 min, that really beats waiting an hour @ 1c. I'm just curios how long it's going to last charging it that fast. Anybody have any thoughts/experience on them yet?

Damn that ground is hard! When's the right time to get out of this money sucking hobby?

I know that there is some pretty detailed cycle info over on rcgroups concerning these cells but I am also curious. From what I've read you can get well over 100 cycles under charge rates of 5c and discharge rates of 40A.

Does anyone have a personal experiece? I don't have that many cycles on mine yet and they are still holding up perfectly.

I would break them in at 1c and 50% discharge for the first 4 or 5 cycles before you start charging them at 5c. I have 12 G3 cells now and they are fantastic!

I have 2 6s 35c 2200mah, and 1 6s 25c 2500 mah, and 1 6s 35c 2600 mah. I have battery logs that i keep detailed info on mah used, charge time and at what rate, Internal resistance, timer settings on the radio, etc. I have between 42 and 56 cycles on each of the batteries, and they feel stronger now than they did the first 10 cycles. The guy at allerc has one customer that is keeping an eagletree log, and is getting higher performance now at 100 cycles than he was getting at 20. My understanding is that 400 cycles was to be expected as long as the 80% rule was followed. I typically get charge times at 8.0 amps of 14 to 16 minutes. I love them!! I want to know what the significance of IR number is. Each battery has a different value from battery to battery and from charge to charge.

I have had problems with two 6s/5500 packs. The first puffed after 6-8 flight then dropped a cell. The second just puffed after 6-8 flights. I broke them in for 5 flights and never took out more than 80% charged at 1C for the first 5 flights then bumped up to 2C in a stock T600

All Erc warranted them with out question so I am happy about that but I still have questions about why both failed!

6cell 5500 pack
I to had one of my new 6 cell 5500 35C packs fail. It cam up with a low cell after about 5 cycles.
Charging at 1C and under 80% on a REX 600.

But no trouble getting it replaced, The HobbyHut Guys are great!

Seems it's the hype of the outrages all over, i also use the 5500's so far so good but i'm not too impressed by the failures mentioned, could we get some more data on the failed ones, i.e, what charger, voltage range between flights, i.e. discharged, store percentage, etc?

Common sense may not be common after all
