Ah man Dood! The Rain Song is one of my soft spot favorites to play, and Tony plays it very well. I even picked up a few other trick technic he uses on his version.

Since your a Beatles fan, I'll give a couple back to you from Tony "troubleclef" . This guy's an acoustic musical encyclopedia, absolute genius!

I like Tommy Emmanuel.
He just plays with so much energy, it's inspiring.

One of my favorite CD's is "Tommy Emmanuel and Chet Atkins, The Day the fingerpickers Took over the World".

Chet Atkins is my hero.

How about Tim Reynolds? The first part of this Medley is a song called "Stream". Years ago, I spent a good solid week learning to playing that song.

But on a six string.

It's a lot easier than it sounds, except for his blazing fast arpeggios. I wish I had that kind of speed.
If you think he's fast on a 12 string, he's even faster on a six string.

I've seen Tim Reynolds play live a few times (w/ Dave Matthews, w/Dave Matthews, and TR3, his own band)
It's a great thing to watch Tim do this up close and in person.

Chet Atkins, king of the fingerpicking. But, Tommy Emmanuel ran with Chet Atkins fingerpicking and took it over the edge.

Johnny Hiland Flatpickin some Bluegrass Guitar
Here is Johnny Hiland flatpicking some acoustic Bluegrass. Johnny's biggest strong suit is Chicken Pickin on electric.

I was lucky enough to see Johnny Hiland live and up close in the Fender booth section at the NAMM show in Anaheim CA about 5 years ago, I think that was before he was signed by PRS Guitars. He just does not dry up with guitar lics, just keeps going for ever and makes it all look so effortless.

All these years of listening to Johnny, I didn't know he was legally blind from nystagmus condition. Johnny has stated that the guitar was an emotional outlet and a security blanket for him.

Chicken Pickin on electric.
Hey, that just reminded me!!

I own a Telecaster that I totally forgot about!
I let a friend of mine borrow it like 5 years ago so he could do some recording with it.

It's not that I really need it back, but Tele's are fun. At least it's in a safe place.
