i fly the logo 5003d and love it .the outrage stuff looks nice basically the outrage has metal every thing and the logo had gf filled plastic. the logo is a has been tested and is one of the best heli made today, with that said the outrage is new and heavier. so all depends on your flying ? if you are all about the bling then outrage and if your about 3d proformance, easy set up and low parts count the logo is the way to go =) IMHO

I fellow pilot at the field has both. I'll ask him during the weekend if he can post.

It's easy to find an excuse to do wrong. Hard is not to find an excuse to do right.

well i luckily havent had the privlege of crashing yet seen some bad ones posted. helis arent made to crash. the frame are pretty tought as well, thats where the low parts count comes in, there is a frame boom tail and head only 1 frame not 2 -4 as other have. i dont know how much they cost, but i do know 1 thing the best kit i put togather ever. all parts fit great all brg were lubed and tight. basically the outstanding german quality proven. not saying outrage isnt that just i have no exp with them but a cf frame & metal weights more then fg filled plastic. my 500 with gf 550s and a tp6s3850 and cc85 n ccbec, hacker A40 10L, jr770/8900 futaba 9252s = weight is 6 1/8 lbs with a canopy too
aprox web weight for the 500 6.5 lbs depending on equipment, i like to see that

The Mikado is lighter, easier on packs, and cheaper to own. It also flies incredibly well. There is no comparison IMO. If you go with the VBAR version, it will be an eye opener.
The Outrage had a few issues that I still am not sure if they were resoloved (tail pulley wobble, breaking belts, etc)......Ron

dosent crash well??
Ummm, I can tell you it crashes very well.
On this subject I am an expert
That plastic frame is fantastic not your run of the mill plastic crap. First rate frame, tight and durable.
I have over 250 flights on my used Logo 10 and its tight as a ducks axx, thats water tight!

Logo 10 and 500 are different frames and the 500 is not as resilient as the 10. That being said, the 500 frames are only $25 a side where as the Outrage 500 frameset is $39.99 per side .....Ron

Probably same material but different shape so they are rigid but not as crash worthy.......Ron

Everytime I see a Logo lately go through the air... I am so impressed with how smooth they are.

You can tell how smooth a heli is by listening to how the blades cut the air... and the Logos are so precise... the blades transition so smoothly and there is no flutter.

They also transition around center with authority.

It didn't hurt that the ones I have seen mainly were also flybarless... but that just seems to make them shine even brighter.

I have watched a Outrage 550 fly also... and it is certainly able to be tossed around well... but the Logo just seemed to be smoother and crisper all around.

I also like the low parts count, and they tell me that they go togeather quickly.

The guys I know that have them (and they are good flyers)... swear by them.

Guys that have the 550s... are also very loyal to them... which says allot... the 550 is a nice machine. I can see where this is a hard decision... but my vote goes to the Logo. Just my 0.02 cents

Outrage makes an awesome helicopter. Heavy? I'm not so sure about that. Any heli can be set up for any type of flying. The Outrage takes no back seat to any of them.

I own both and the Mikado is the better machine hands down. It is smoother, quieter, lighter, easier on battery's, and flat outfly's the Outrage. The Mikado is a very simple design, which keeps the parts down to a minimum. I am actually thinking of selling my Outrage to get another Mikado. The Outrage is a good machine, just not as good as the Mikado IMHO.

Logo 500 3D Setup for Smooth Style Flying - F3C Training
I am getting a Logo 500 3D - Hacker A40 10L Turbo motor.

What are good Blade - Number of cells - Pinion gear combination s for smooth flight, rolls, loops, inverted hover?

Getting the 3D because of the extra bearings and such.

Head speed? 1850 - 2000.

5S or 6S battery ( for the type of flying I want to do )?

Since there are a lot of Logo 500 fliers here this is the place to ask questions.

Thanks,
Jim Mahoney
