Guys
Does anyone know of any other hex starter coupling that will fit the Vibe 50 without modifications ?
This is the third one that has rounded out within the past 9 months !
My starter wand is not rounded as it has started 2 Raptors , 2 Trex 600's 1 Evo 50
and a Trex 700 and has never rounded out the couplings on these helis. The starter wand is 3 years old and going strong

Any suggestions ??

Is that the Mavrikk wand with the "blue" one-way bearing base? Thats the one I use if so. Weird that you keep stripping the coupler. I use a Hanger 9 heavy duty starter with a 5 cell lipo.

Very strange. I believe you can flip the shaft on that starter wand and there is another end on it. Try the new side just for Sh*ts and grins.

Best start shaft coupler out there for the money is the Hirobo 'Hardened' coupler for the EVO 50. I have put one on all of my ships including my 700. Coupled with the Sullivan wand, and you should have no problems in that department!

HobbyHut has them!

I really thought you were going to come back and say you were using one of those geared hydra-tork starters.

I've had the same problem with striping out the adapter and the extension.

I use a Dynatron with the blue Mavrick extension and Makita battery, after about six months the extension rounded out along with the adapter cup. I bought the replacement Mavrick shaft and the tip broke off the first time I tried to use it, I then put a Vario extension, (these cost over $30.00 just for the shaft and are supposed to be the best), in the Mavrick one way, (it fits perfect) and about six months of use the same thing happened, both the extension and the adapter rounded out.

I'm pissed, this is one of those problems that doesn't have to be. I can deal with putting on new starter adapters on my Vibe but the choice, quality, and price of these starter extensions is BS, its just a 6mm hex that I would expect to be able to buy and replace at a reasonable price.

I'm going to try the sullivan extension next and order about a dozen adapters at the same time.

The thing I don't get is most guys don't have this problem, what the hell are you doing different?????

Funny you mention that. In my club every single heli pilot uses the Hirobo wand with one-way. No one have rounded its hex adapter on various models (Vibe, T600, T700, Evo, Freyas and Auroras)

We use that because is the only one available at our LHS, quite expensive but after reading this kind of post it seems it pays or itself.
