Is there an official sign up list? If so i have not heard about or seen it.

Thanks for taking the time and effort in putting this together. I am sure something can be worked out.

Why don't you run 2 flight lines. All the other contests never had the need for it till now, if you have that many.

I'll go for it, sounds good. A perfect 1st contest for me. I think it is possible to have close to 50 wanting to sign up. It is more welcoming to average pilots than a 3D contest, and when they see in their packet... "Win a 90"... they'll be like Oh-snap, I'm game.

I'd be all for a prelim of some sort. Otherwise you just have to have an announcement and the subsequent race to your sign up table--first come first served.

Joe,
The 2 flight lines will definately help things.

Is the contest being held at site 3 or 4?

I may be available to help somehow if it does not clash with the Drag Race prelims.

Yes we are working on securing two flight lines. The contest will be at Site 3.... so we may be able to find a way so that one group does hovering and the other does upstairs stuff......

as far as the number of contestants go you have to keep in mind that if all goes great that only 5-6 pilots can be flown per hour. So this is what may cause a limit to have to be established. .

Wise words Tom. When I saw how many guys wanted to enter, I started thinking how many DAYS would be allotted to get everybody in. I know from experience like you how long it takes to fly an average group of 6 or 7 guys per round at the Nats, and there's no way newcomers can be pushed through that quickly.

Agreed Tom, and Dr. Ben

If anyone is in the Indiana area come check it out! The best in the world are in Muncie right now fighting for the title! Come get some pointers

Good luck to all those competing! F3C is fun to do! And will make you a better 3D pilot in the long run. Practice it's only a week a way!

What a great experience!! Thanks to Joe for taking so much of his time away from his business to give every one this great opportunity.

I meet a lot of great guys and hope to see some of you at Nationals next year.

Thanks to George Mathews for all of his help and of course Curtis Youngblood, Bill Tinsley, Paul Giles, Tom Erb and all the other people who took time out to judge for us.

His name was Dave something, he was cool too. He flew very well with an SDX and chose the Rave ENV for his prize. He does not have the machine in hand but a certificate for one of the first production models.

I placed 7th overall. I am very happy considering this was my first comp EVER. I had a great time and it was a great experience. Thanks to everyone who made it possible.

The win was a well deserved one for Dave. From the moment I seen him fly Friday afternoon I knew he was the one to beat. Turns out no one was able to do just that. Great job Dave!

I too had a great experience and appreciated all the hard work Joe and everyone else put forth. Hopefully it will bring back some life into the AMA class flying.

I want to especially thank George Matthews and Santiago P. Both guys gave me some excellent tips and pointers that really helped me improve from Sat morning to Sat afternoon.

I really thought I put up a great round in the finals but after I landed I was told I executed the cobra vee and stall turn out of order and both were scored a big fat zero. My heart skipped a beat because I knew that put me completely out of contention.

Overall I got more from this experience than expected. I had a wonderful time. I got to meet some great people, even you Dave! and I got see what competition flying is all about. I really hope to see all of you next year if not before.

Thanks for the kind words Dave and Lou. I took some grief for not taking the Evo 90 but having Curtis judge and then having the ability to get one of his new Helis was kinda special for me.

I saw a huge improvement in every ones flights from the first round to the finals. It ended up only being 4 points between 1st and 5th place.

You made the right choice! And I'm sure George has already offered you $50 for it. HAHA Be sure to let us all know when you're able to get your hands on the new kit.

Congrats again Dave... you earned it.

Wholly Cow, that's more than in the entire field at the 2009 US Nats, all classes.

I think we've hit on something, finally. Good job to Joe and all for putting this on. Excellent of MRC and Curtis to put up the hardware, too.
