I beleive so, earlier in the thread. It was an FAI machine with 230 grame each blades, and other items added that were specific to FAI. So it was for sure heavier than a 3D machine would be.

Cool. Just wondering what the rtf weight might be for a fast 3D setup.

Packs, motor choice, blades, and ESC can have a lot to do with all of that. Not everything is of course the same weight. As I am sure you know. It would be under 12 pounds for sure. And some I have seen are pushing out 7 horse power easilly. So they are MONSTERS!!!

C'mon Brian, you have to give us the manual now so we know how to build it once it's released

I wish I could, I can say it is done. But still out for the CY stamp of approval. It goes into every single detail of building all of the different versions on the model. It also covers every individual build step in detail to help the first time builders build go very smoothly, including build tips and tricks. We beleive people will enjoy the detail.

Here is what the layout looks like with the electric gear on board, plus a little preview of the instructions. I hope this answers your questions.

I can't really see well from the picture, but how much bearing surface does the front battery have? It appears in could rock back and forth, but maybe i'm missing something.

It sits on a flat surface that is about 2 inches long and about 1.5 inches wide. With velcro and straps it stays put quite well.

okay, cool with me. I was just imagining some "crack" flying or wall maneuvers and wondering how well the lipo would hold still. I personally wouldn't worry about it coming off, just rocking a bit and giving the heli a wierd vibe for a few second.

I feel like it would be possible if one was that concerned to make an extension without to much difficulty. Personally I think it will be plenty, but just throwing the idea out there.

Good velcro goes a long way. Imagine the look on my face the first time a went skydiving and saw the shroud lines were velcroed to the chute itself.

What we could do is make an extra long plate that bolts on like the upper plate for the single 10-12S lipo option & runs all the way to the front & beyond. Is attached up front as well. That gives a much bigger area to strap on the front lipo when using 2 of them. Also can spread the 2 straps apart making it easier to do/undo them without the front frame in the way.
