There will not be main blades in the kit, there will be carbon tail blades in the kit.

For what you will be getting at those announced prices is pretty amazing considering that a Vigor CS many years ago cost 1100.00+. I owned 2 of them. The Rave ENV is far more flexible than any packaged heli on the market out of the gate. Not to speak of how much easier it will be to work on. Those prices in todays down economy should be very well received especially considering you will be able to dial up CYE for support and not get any run around. I'm glad to see a high quality helicopter with a killer price come to market. The Total-G is just icing on the cake! You won't be disappointed!

I think the competition is less with align and more with the quality level and overall awesomeness that comes with Hirobo, Synergy and MA. The price of the ENV blows them all away by at least 200 and as much as 500. Similarly the Rave 3D was more priced to compete with furion and G5, which it did.
The Total G is the same idea, compete with V-bar. In addition, I would rather have mini g type gyros then POS align gyros in my flight control unit. oh and the TG has an ATG. Brian can correct me if i'm wrong but I am under the impression that the TG can be programed with a pc OR g-view2. No one that I have seen has mentioned or shown how the align unit is programmed. Also the TG is a servo bus the align is not.
Overall A+ on pricing IMO. I also usually agree with you Jay, but I think your expectations were very excessive.

The counter weight on the grips was something Curtis did for FAI. The nitro does have a start shaft and clutch.

The target right now is late March.

And just FYI MAP on the basic T-Rex 700 kit is $710, it just so happens that most dealers choose to ignore MAP pricing on the kit.

actually map on a 700 kit is still 788.99 so 800$ for something that should be much better quality is a great deal. considering it might even compete with the JR 90SG (1500$) its a great price.

One thing I did notice in the discussion was that if you have a Total-G, you have to go flybarless. I just wanted to point out that this is actually not true. You can deactivate the flight control system in the Total-G, yet still get to use the tail gyro, ATG governor, and use the unit as a Spektrum receiver. Actually all of the electronic addons can be deactivated if you wish. So you are not forced to use anything you do not want to.

Also, yes the Total-G will be able to be programed by using a PC. It will also be able to be updated with a computer. It will come with a card that plugs directly into the Total-G and via that card you will be able to use a common (not included) mini USB cable (very commonly used with most didgital cameras, Nikon, Cannon etc...) to program the Total-G at home or in the the field with your laptop. So no the Button G-View it not a must have. It is just an option to make it easy to set up without needing a computer.

I hope this clears some things up.

Is it possible to repurpose 6S 3000 packs to make a 12S 3000 pack for the env?

I could probably go light on the motor/servos/esc as well to keep it as light as possible.

Brian, any idea on flight times on a 12S 3000 setup with moderate power? Not crazy power, just similar to nitro with 1900-2000ish headspeeds.

What kind of RTF weight minus lipos do you get on a flybarred electric rave?

thanks guys!

We actually have not weighed the flybared 3D setup. Only FAI, which is heavier than a 3D/Sport setup would be, but it about 11.75 pounds with 2 6000 MAH battery packs on board ready to fly.

As for flight times I really cannot say. We have not tested it in that specific configuration. For FAI it gets plenty of flight time to complete an entire FAI round without changing packs.

I hope this helps some.
