Old Hirobo Shuttle
Hi, I have a Hirobo Shuttle I think from the early 90's. It has a green canopy and stabilizer/tail fin. Age and fuel have caused these parts to crack and fall apart. Would anyone be able to tell me what model this may be and if I can still get these parts. This has not been flown in about ten years is there anyone in the Voorheesville NY area that may be able to help me get this set back up to fly? Thanks ZR800GUY.

You could go to Heliproz or another site and click on manuals and look up Hirobo shuttle's and use the manuals on there site to match up the parts you need. They havent really changed to much over the years.

I could be totaly wrong, but Im pretty sure there still selling new shuttle kits even to this day. I learned to hover with one, I would love to fly one now just to see how much you can do with one with more experience.

I still have my shuttle plus. You still need Half an airfield to do an roll and 200 feet to flip it upside down before you hit the ground with 9252 servos. Still fun to buzz around with though. Its just so different then a Trex or Raptor. Just have to fly it like an airplane.
They still sell them and there still good for somebody to learn on.

You heli is most likely a Shuttle XX or an older Z. Of course, you should not confuse yours with a Shuttle G, ZX or ZXX.

You can buy a new canopy. It is exactly the same. But the new version is white and has a "chin" at the top that wraps around the swash plate.

The tail fins are still availible. However, they are also white and are the newer RG style. The stopped making the smaller fins years ago.

Thing that always amazed me was how sloppy the head was even from brand new but they flew fine like that, if you had that much play in the blades on the helis we fly now I doubt you wouldnt get of the ground without a major explosion, they were amazingly reliable, you never had to worry about the head getting sloppy due to wear and tear because thats the way it was designed to be, anyone who`s owned one will know what Im talking about, even when I was flying my one I couldent beleive how it was able to fly so well with the amount of play there was in the head and blades.
EDIT
I dont know if its just me but, but when I owned all my older generation helis, I couldent wait to get rid of em so I could buy a newer better one, and I pretty much off loaded them for pittence, now Ive been flying better helis for a few years I would love to have those old helis back again just to see what there like to fly now my flying skills have improved, I think its a sentimental thing specialy with the shuttle as it was the first nitro heli I ever flew..

Sorry but I have to call BS on that one. I learned on a Shuttle ZXX (pic in my gallery). I progressed well into aerobatics and mild 3d before moving on to better machines. I will concede a Raptor or Trex will out fly it but both are 50 size machines where the Shuttle is a 30.

I think the green canopy Shuttle came out around 1988. It had a longer mainshaft than the original blue canopy that I had.
