My experience with VBAR 4.0
I have owned the Skookum SK360 for a little less than a year. It did not fly right with piros and fast elevator cyclic. Had problems with tilt of heli during piros and problems with tail bounce. Maybe I did not manage to set it up properly, but I have really tried.

Sold my Skookum SK360 and had my first 6 flights with the VBAR last night. Perfect weather and I got the green light on first try

The VBAR4.0 is just amazing. In my opinion it is far ahead of SK360 in performance and setup.

Piros are great. NO tail bounce....Tail rock solid (knife edge, death spirals and tail slides)

I did fast forward flight and did 3 medium speed piros without touching the cyclic and it flew like on a wire. Totally straight.

It is very much like the sim now...In some ways actually easier.

The only "negative" thing I have to say about the VBAR, is that the servo wires in the package are ridiculously short...

You can buy longer cables, but I mount my receiver on the VBAR unit so cable length is not an issue.

I think SK is much more complicated than VBAR V4.

Most people will not know what they are missing out on until they try it.

Where to purchase?
Been watching the vBar "grow"...tried the Heli-Command RIGID for a 1st-attempt...NOPE.

Was looking to go GY520 & SK360 (have BLS252's & 251) until I saw THX1138 fly his vBar'd 4.0 a few weeks ago.

I understand the setup is MUCH improved.

Now I read this and I have my CC in my free-hand...where are you guy's buying the vBar 4.0...and is anyone supporting (other than the forums)?

thanks.

The Dude II,

I also have tried Helicommand Rigid and it worked pretty good. The internal tail gyro was the problem and when I just gave up and used a Fut401 as an external gyro, it all worked really well.

The stablisation option works pretty good but I do find it still drifts a fair bit (in horiz mode, I don't use the positional mode).

I have recently helped a local guy setup a 90 sized nitro scalie in positional mode (with an external tail gyro) and this worked very well.

Another local guy just ordered a new Gyrobot 900 and has asked me to try it out. I can hardly wait to see how this works!

Cheers,
TomC
