Other option motor for 600ESP other than the stock?
Im thinking of going w/ 8S so I want to use both 6S now and 8S in the future. Is there a motor that would handle this? I think scorpian 4025 1100KV would work but then do I have to modify the frame? Lastly, should I use a bec or use the lipo batt. that comes with it?

Set up
ESP
CC85HV
Stock align blades
9252 servos
6 or 8S TPX V2
V bar 4.0

thanks..
is that a new heli? Oh no honey, its the same one w/different stickers.....

Modify the frame and go with a Scorpion – it will be the best decision that you ever made. The mod is real easy.

I have always liked a BEC better than a separate battery. I actually think that it’s more reliable that way and it definitely saves weight.

I am planning on the 8s setup myself with my Trex-600ESP FBL here. The 6s power is definitely not enough to support the FBL agility desire

I wish there are more battery choices since I want to go 8s 4200 packs. I hate low flight time and I hate charging 2 packs for one flight (as in, 2 x 4s). The only choice there is right now is the Outrage 8s 4200, and boy, they are expensive, $330 a pop.

Let's all send emails to those companies that make cheap/good lipos like Hyperion and zippy and demand for 8s 4200mAh packs

Dont let the frame mod put you off, Im such fantastic handyman I even have to pay some guy at the local hobby shop to solder my deans plugs onto my flight packs for me.

It takes all of 5 minutes if that to cut a small bit of the frame away, Im a complete retard and even I managed to do it in less than 5 minutes.

Im wondering if after all the cost of converting to 8s, another option could be to buy a Trex 500 and use that for 3d and keep the 600e as is and then have 2 helis.

I find the stock 600e is no slouch on nice fresh packs and 11t pinion,(with a Scorpion its even better) the problem is because of the high demands a big heli puts on 6s packs they dont stay that way very long.

This is what I have done, my plan is to stock up on packs for my 500e and only have a couple of nice new packs for my 600e at any one time, hopefuly with the 2 helis I wont be useing the 600 as much so the packs will last longer, unfortunately the way it is at the moment I have 2 new packs for my 500 and 5 packs for my 600e, only one of which is any good, the rest are all on there way downhill, a couple of my 600 packs are so bad there only realy good for practiceing inverted hovering orientations and slow flight.

I think with nice fresh packs the 600e is not as bad as what alot make out to be, with the scorpion and a fresh pack its not to bad at all.

Both will do fine, If it was me I would get the 4025 1100kv.
There nice and cheap also, cheaper than the Align stock.
From all accounts the 4025 890kv works well also.

Oiling the bearings every time you go flying gets a bit tiresom, but thats just me Im a very lazy person.

1100 will work best on 6S, it can handle higher amps that 6S will produce.
890 will work best on 8S.

You don't have to oil them every flight, retard, I mean Spitfire Just messing with you, that was funny.

Align 100A ESC for the Scorpion 4025-1100
Is anybody here using the Scorpion 4025-1100 with the stock Align 100A RCE-BL100G ESC?

I did try this motor with the "upgraded" CC HV85 ESC and it appeared that I got some browned out incidents a couple times where too much amperage through the HV85. My setup includes the Align ds610 servos with the FBL electronics, so a lot of amperage going through the ESC.

In theory, the Align 100A ESC should handle more amp than the CC HV85A, am I correct? I don't care about governor mode, so if the Align 100A can handle more amp, I can stick with it while waiting for the new CC ICE 100 ESC.

Inputs please? Thanks.

you will need higher amps with fewer cells

I ran the 1100 on the stock 75 on 6S all summer and was pulling over 100 quite often

Are you asking about 6 or 8S?

This is for 6s and I run 6s 5000 mAh pack on this. If you run the stock Align 75A ESC on the Scorpion 1100 motor all the Summer then I should be safe running the 6s setup on the Align 100A then?

Also, you fly 3D or sport?

I used the 4025 1100kv and the stock Align 100amp ESC.

No problems and hardly any heat.

The frame mod is simple as well.
Just connect the dots between the existing holes.

So the Align 100 ESC is better than the new CC ICE 100 ESC

And to date, the number of CC ESC's that burn in flames seems to be a lot more than Align

I can't say that.I have no way of knowing.
Align ESC's are all I ever use.
But...I have never had a failure or a fire

I ran the 890kv Scorpion on 6s with a 19 and 20T pinion, even on 6s it has more power than the stock motor and is also alot more efficient. You can then use the same motor on 8s or even 10s! I think on 6s with a 20T pinion and some nice 30C packs it will have all the power you will need! Dont be put off by the low kV rating it is the watts that count!60% of the time, it works every time!

15T here as well with an Align 100amp ESC and no gov.
Also around 2050-2100 at the rotor head.
