AR7100R RevMax and Throttle endpoint question
I did a search and didnt find what I am looking for. I am hoping this isnt an obscure question. I am waiting for a Spektrum AR7100R receiver to come to me and I am prepping my raptor 50 titan for its arrival by trying to get my throttle servo set to 100/100 on the ATV. I switched around wheels/arms and got it to 85/85 with 90 at 1/2 throttle. Trim all the way down. I moved the ball out to the farther ball on the carb arm and was able to get to 115/115 with 90 in the center. I cant seem to get that 100/100 mark. Should I just keep switching wheels and everything until I get to the 100/100? Also, what about my trim, I have it at the bottom because if I didnt and I set up my ATV with it, say, in the middle, it would overdrive the servo when the trim dropped to the bottom. HELP =).

I think that you'll get a different answer from just about every heli pilot out there but this is how I do it and it has worked great from me.

You are correct in saying that it is ideal to have 100/100 ATV's for the gov functions to be maximized.

1)What I do is choose a servo horn that has the same exact spacing from center as the arm on the carb barrel.

2) Once I have done that I measure the distance from the servo center and the carb barrel center and make my link that length.

3) I then loosen the arm on the carb ever so slightly so that I can rotate the barrel and keep the arm still.

4) Turn on the heli and put you throttle stick at 50% (making sure that your curve is linear).

5) Attach the servo arm so that you can get you linkage at both ends as close to 90 degrees as possible.

6) Now that your linkage is set at 50% throttle you can now rotate the barrel of your carb until it is exactly at its midpoint (most engines have a tick mark) and tighten it down.

Theoretically this should get you very close to 100/100 on your ATV's. You may have to make very fine adjustments from here but this a good starting point.

Feel free to ask any more questions if this isn't clear.

Regards,
Brian

Brian,

Thanks. I didn't think to measure the distance on the carb. arm. that should do the trick. I should be getting the receiver/rev-limiter in the mail today and will be playing with it ASAP.

getting closer
I have my throttle servo endpoints set up at exactly 100H and 100L with zero subtrim, and at 90-degrees at 50% throttle. My hangup now is the position of my throttle trim lever. It is in the middle. I am used to being able to pull the throttle trim all the way down without binding. What do you recommend? I am using a JR 9303 2.4 Transmitter so I have the 3+1 trims.

maybe something's wrong?
I dont know if its something with my setup...When I look at the throttle throw in the monitor screen I am not getting full throw at full throttle. Also, Full low throttle is hit before the stick is all the way down. My ATV is at 100/100, my throttle curves all go to full 100, my GOV function doesnt make a difference in the throttle movement if it is Active or Inhibited. Any help? Is this normal?
