The manual calls for 4.8 volts between 1500 and 2700mah .No more than 4.8 volts.
I use a 4.8 volt 4500mah ni-mh "A" cell battery for my EI..
Irwin at QWW has good deals on EI batteries...Call Irwin/Jon at Quick World Wide and they can hook you up with the right stuff..

4s li-po
WE are converting a 4S 5000MAh (10c) into 2x 2s 5000MAh with 2 regulators. It will be in a single shrink wrap. This way we can switch from the EI to the reciever as I find the EI draw more than the flying electronics.

I have found that the EI does draw more so battery monitoring is essential before each flight.

TOO EACH THEIR OWN
I find EI motors run much better, smoother besides being lighter. I have run both types & will stay with EI motor now. What I also have found is the EI seem too start easier maybe due to the EI.

The EI does use more battery capacity than the R/X.
The 3000 mAH cells should work perfect!!
