The manual calls for 4.8 volts between 1500 and 2700mah .No more than 4.8 volts.
I use a 4.8 volt 4500mah ni-mh "A" cell battery for my EI..
Irwin at QWW has good deals on EI batteries...Call Irwin/Jon at Quick World Wide and they can hook you up with the right stuff..EP8 EX twinring frame

WE are converting a 4S 5000MAh (10c) into 2x 2s 5000MAh with 2 regulators. It will be in a single shrink wrap. This way we can switch from the EI to the reciever as I find the EI draw more than the flying electronics.

I have found that the EI does draw more so battery monitoring is essential before each flight.

thats why i dont like the ei motors.a mag motor is less trouble,andonly need a battery for the heli electronics.

TOO EACH THEIR OWN

I find EI motors run much better, smoother besides being lighter. I have run both types & will stay with EI motor now. What I also have found is the EI seem too start easier maybe due to the EI.

thats funny ,my mag motor started eaiser than mine and jimbos ei motor.my mag motor idles lower and smoother.but like you said .to each his own.
