titan 50 tail issue I am currently having some issues with the rudder on my titan 50. When I first noticed the problem, in flight, the tail would move about a 90 degrees and then be ok for awhile and then do the same thing. While doing some bench testing, I had the rudder servo stop working all together until you move the servo horn or tail blades and then it works again for a little while and then does the same thing. I have tried a different servo and gyro and it seems to do the same thing. I am running a 401/9254, fromeco arizona reg/2600 LIon, Futaba gov. I have checked the voltage to the tail and reciever and thats normal. Anybody else run in to this situation?? Thanks |

it sounds like just a simple lack of lube on the tail shaft or the tail rod guides are dirty or dry and or possibly so far out of line that they cause friction. Any of the above can also ruin a servo. Which might be why it seems fine at fdirst then gets worse.
Hope this helps

I have checked binding on the tail shaft/lube, and I have a carbon rod from the servo to the tail with no guids and everything seems very smooth with no binding. This is THE weirdest thing I have ever had to troubleshoot on any of my rc helis or planes..........ugh. |

Sounds like a bad servo. Put it back in the nose, its either vibration or fuel killing it.Andy AMA 77227 http://www.jaxrc.com |

I heard several times that this are the dying signs of the 9254. First two or three times this happens you can recover, fourth time it keeps stuck in the corner. You have been warned.BTW to me this behaviour sounds like a broken potmeter. I have had to replace the pots in the 9254 several times, you can notice problems when there is a shake/overshoot when the servo boots up. |

Thats the "weird" part, I have tried another servo, which is off a friends heli with only a few flights on it, and it does the same thing. I could put a new one on and try it, but I hate to do that since I have tried a different one already. Do you think it could be the fromeco regulator? |

Have you measured the actual voltage the servo is seeing? The only really accurate way to do that is with an inline meter.Andy AMA 77227 http://www.jaxrc.com |

Do you think it could be the fromeco regulator? If the regulator is broken anything may happen. It might be sending HF noise through the power lines for instance. |

Thanks for the input guys. I have checked the voltage to the servo using the H9 inline volt/amp meter and it's steady 4.97V. I have tried tapping the regulator to see if it could change under vibration and the reg is steady as can be. About the only thing I have not tried testing/changing is the RX, and the Fromeco 7.4V LIon Battery. Man......this Heli has been super reliable up till now. Thanks again for your input. |
