5 things: (1) As far as the isolator goes, you can just install a large relay like an older Ford starter solenoid or if you go to the local car stereo shop, you can ask for a PAC 150 high amp isolator/relay.(2) Make sure the activation lead for the solenoid goes to the IGNITION and not the accessory, that way you can listen to the radio while you fly and both batteries will still be isolated from one another. The rear battery will only be activated when the car is running.
(3) The fuse should be of the 150 amp variety (4) The wiring used should be 4awg or larger between the batteries (5) DO NOT INSTALL THIS WITHOUT A FUSE IN LINE!!!!! Doing so you run the risk of shorting a 4awg wire to ground with no protection. If it does short, you WILL watch your car burn to the ground ![]() ![]() Hope this helps..............Ron |
