Crazy tailwag with logo 600 and vbar!!! Frustrating!!!
I am getting the craziest tail wag with my logo 600 vbar. I do have the castle 110hv, and it has the newest firmware, and my vbar is 4.0, jr 8900g. I get the wag, about 1 1/2ft wide, no matter what, if I set the gain on the vbar all the way to 50 or all the way to 100. I've tried every setting on the castle, from 1 on the gain all the way to high, and I get the wag all the way through. I have never banged the vbar or hurt it, but it just started to act this way all of a sudden. I tried my friends bls 251 and it still wagged, so I don't know what else to try. I am getting so frustrated that I don't know what to do. My buddys gonna let me try his power jazz to rule out the esc. I hope that the vbar hasn't took a shiz on me, because $300 just for the sensor is a kik in the sac. any suggestions? I am about to throw it in the garbage.

Make sure you have no resistance in the tail control linkage, wwhich I am sure you did. Also make sure there is no slop in your pitch slider.

Maybe try going back to the default Vbar program for your heli and try again.

Thanks for the replies, I have went completely thru the heli and all the settings. I have even re-installed all the firmwares and everything. No luck, I just hope that its a software thing and not any internal problems with my vbar. I have replaced the frames, gears, boom, entire tail. The only thing not new is the belt. How could I test the vbar sensor for damage?YardBird Rc

Did you run it in fixed end points as suggested. This would help in determining if it's the esc or vbar causing the wag.

I ran my logo 500 in fixed end points (HV85)when setting up my Vstabi. After all was set and the tail was holding strong I threw it in "set rpm" gov and instantly there was a wag in my tail. A few less points on the gain and all was good.

How do you have the sensor mounted? I get a very high freq tail wag just occasionally on my logo 500. I'm using the CSM foam for the mounting and i'm thinking it's too soft allowing the sensor to move about. I'll change the foam and see if that helps. Just an idea...

Wow a CC HV110 is a very large ESC for that helicopter. Perhaps it’s just too large to work with your helicopter.

Have you called the CC Tech Support hot line?

I don’t fly Logo but I have two CC HV85 on two different E620SE helicopters and the new governor works perfectly on both of them. I have helped others set it up and it’s always worked perfectly so there is probably something wrong with your setup. It could be that your motor and gearing are way off. What motor, battery, and gear ratio are you using?

I always start with a real low tail gyro gain (almost nothing in the HH mode) until I get the governor dialed in then increase the tail gyro gain as much as I can. Have you tried that procedure?

That big of wag I would rather look for something mechanical in the tail, reversed thrust bearings, a slider the start to not slide smooth etc.

Normally for those BIG wag it take mechanical problems...

If its the CC you would hear it, it would surge like crazy to get that much wag.

I am off to the field and Anthony J. is gonna bring out his power jazz to slap on it and try to get this problem worked out. Mr.Mel, you mentioned reversed thrust bearings, are you meaning in the tailgrips? I will take my hub apart and check that out.YardBird Rc

yes, smaller inner diameter outwards, larger inwards toward the hub.
(inside the grips, make sure everything else looks good there too)

Ok, I believe the problem has been located. Anthony Jager found it in about 2 mins. We pulled the motor because it had some vertical play, and slop, and upon removal we noticed that the can, nearest the pinion was bent to hell. The gap at the bend location went to almost closed at that position. He says that he is almost positive that its the problem, because everything else is practically new. I have been having weird vibrations and everything, and this has to be the culprit. The wag was so bad that I couldn't even get it off the ground.YardBird Rc

Well, I guess the logo still wins. I tried the Xera motor, problem still there. The tail just starts to go crazy as soon as I touch the rudder stick. Its already wagging with the mainrotor spools up, and when I touch rudder stick, it just starts going wild.
My motor is the scorpion 4035-630. No counter bearing, using mod -1 gear.

Well I would try:
(1) Checking the tail bearings for binding/correct installation
(2) Turn off the Gov Mode on the Castle
(3) Re-binding the rx
Other than that I am lost

Sounds to me like it’s something much more serious than an ESC problem. Try another rudder servo. I have never seen a CC ESC cause anything but a slight tail wag and never with the new software.

You might consider flying it with the stock head and flybar to sort out the mechanical or power system problems.
