External BEC

I bought a used helicopter with a exernal BEC. The wires on this bird are kinda all over the place so i wanted to tidy it up a bit when i noticed the red wire fron the ESC was still in tac to the reciever so im wondering if the BEC still works and do i really need an external BEC with my TREX500? Thanks for the help in advance.

What brand BEC? If it's a Sport the red wire can stay. If CC red has to go.

If it's a CC. HV. ESC, Don't remove the red wire.

What brand ESC? If it does not have a built in bec (opto) red wire is fine.CRASH! GLUE! REPEAT!

the Align 60amp that came with the 500 has an internal bec and red wire should be disconnected to use an external BEC.CRASH! GLUE! REPEAT!
