Has any body tried the new metal engine bearing block setfrom Align.

The main reason for the upgrade metal block is due to the flex.

The plastic one especially in a crash will look fine but the long hex shaft nuts will more than likely be bent inside the plastic block.

Then, that means more than likely the starter shaft sleeve end will be bent at the clutch one way bearing side.

Then what happens when it is not detected? All the bearings are in a bind and overheat. Now you have notchy and noisy bearings.

How do I know.

I just when through the frustrating chase of comedy of errors with this.

Replace it with the upgrade that should have been metal to begin with, its not just for bling.

(Edited 06/22) Oh yeah, forgot to mention this little flexing plastic bearing block issue caused me to strip a gear on a Hot Drag take off, that consequently caused another hard landing that caused more damage.

Since then, I have replaced the main gear with the Microheli CNC Delrin 1M gear with 14T pinion.

Everything finally solved and learned a lesson. Now my "700 Honken Betsy" is back to having fun with again."Whats Right is Right and Whats Wrong is Not Flying"

I havent had a main gear strip since I put the metal block in. So hope carma doesn't get me, but so far so good.Team Westside Heli
