right, using it as a TEST,to get an idea of performance,is normal.and very useful, but sometimes the tail is going to kick a little because we are using powerful motors and some guys use lots of pitch.but some dudes worry about that a lot and it is not the be all end all litmus test of your tail set up,in my opinionCompass helis Support Team

Dude you gotta have cf tail blades! The plastic blades flex too much. I like Radix blades myself, best $40 I ever spent!- Chris

I run plastic tail blades so they do flex. Saves stress on my belt. The last belt ran over 250 flights and was still in OK shape when I took it off.Revolectrix Beta Team

The only esc that works worth a damn in King2 is the Jazz 40-6-18. I have one in my in my King2 it is the only way to fly. Really a Jazz is required to any heli fly well as no other esc has a governor that works well enough.- Chris

Yep nothing but the best for my helis. I also run a R6014FS and a 14MZ on the King2. The higher resolution really makes a difference when you try to hold hovers. I also find that the Spartan works best on the tail. With all the extra weight from the 14ch rx it is nice to have a lighter gyro. Some think that spending $1000 on electronics for a $65 bird is excessive but you have to spend that much to make it worth flying.- Chris

Gregor99, I just got a airtronics rds 8000 2.4 ghz radio system on monday and have been playing with it all week. and it's a nice radio and will last me a long time once I get use to all that settings and know how to set the thing up. like the pitch curves and all that stuff I know how to adjust all the trims and stuff but setting the pitch curves and idle up might give me a little trouble. but I will worry about the idle up switch when I get good enough to need the idle up. I'm hoping that my other two servos come in the mail tomorrow so that I can get them put on the heli and get all my trims and stuff set up so that I can get back to learning how to fly this thing.esky belt cp 450, just built exi 450 pro, trext 500esp, trex 600esp

So simple question of guy who tries to assemble more or less decent heli which flies but not breaks turned into...Well, Friday night.

Ice, I think Greg advised you right. H65MG is not a true tail servo, as he said, but in your case it should be OK. At least tail should hold and it should ease flight. And it will cost you nothing, so worth trying. It was already said. Later on when you progress, you will either change heli or start upgrading it tuning to your desired level. Most important for you is to start flying, but not fighting. You already got some experience with cheap stuff. Good luck!

At the very end it is how you fly is important or how much fun you get.

And a bit aside of servos to tail blades. My tail blade as I said in another topic broke. At a root. Plastic blade. When I was making tight flip. Root of blade in a grip, blade itself gone. I believe it is very rare case. If $40 can save $1000 bird - worth spending. It won't make a better pilot though.

You do know I am kidding right? I wouldn't spend $40 on tail blades if they were the only ones left on the planet. I run the best stuff I feel is necessary and that is usually pretty basic stuff. I was just feeling in a funky mood last night and thought I would air out some of my pet peeves in an odd way.- Chris

okay guys, I got all my servo's today and got them all installed. and i am trying to get my rds8000 radio setup. but when I give the heli throttle the swash plat is tilting instead of moving up and down. and when I make it go forward and back wards it's going up and down. what do I have to switch in my radio settings to fix this. cause left and right work fine. tanks in advance.esky belt cp 450, just built exi 450 pro, trext 500esp, trex 600esp

Iceman,
So long as the elevator servo is the one that is on the lone side, all you do is this:

Keep reversing servos until your swash moves up and down with collective (left stick).
Once you do that, your gonna set up the swash mix next.
typical values for the swash mix are
Aile: 60
Elev: 60
Pitch : 60

If you tilt your cyclic right and the swash does not tilt right then change your aile from 60 to -60.
Basically changing the polarity it like reversing the swash mix.

Do the same for Elevator.

You should not have to chagne the pitch cause you did that by servo reversing.

If you don't have enough pitch range, you can tweek the pitch value from 60 to say 65 but I'd not go over 70.

How to level a wash:

Even if you don't have a swash leveler, just eyeball it

ok so now I got it so the it moves the swash up and down with the right stick but when I push the stick up the swash goes down instead of up. and when I mover the right stick forward the swash tilts back instead of forward. so what do I have to adjust now? never mind guys I got it. which is good because now I will know how to fix it next time. so now that I got that working right what do I have to setup now?esky belt cp 450, just built exi 450 pro, trext 500esp, trex 600esp
