Black plastic gear makes quite alot of noise. This is unfortunately normal. If it fits you may want to look at fitting the delrin main gear from the Sceadu. Very expensive supplied in the UK. I got mine from rcpowersupply.com

By the way where did you get your SDX from and at what price please?

the EVO 50 gears were really noisy, but work fine for yrs. The up/down play issue could be a few things. first, check the manual, does the heli require a shim under the main gear? my evo had one, I forgot it once..it caused the play.

all seems ok nothing missing prob just like that ,, then
just play up en down bugs me abit , as the evo only as slight play ,the sdx as more play in the top main gear up en down than the evo , prob how its designed ? anyway it flys much better than me evo ,,,

My gear is not noisy after about 25 flights. I also don't have any play up and down. You may want to check the main mast collar. Mine loosened up after the first couple of flights and I had to reset it.

just need to no is its normal and ok to fly with it as is ,
so the play is between the rop and bottom gear , not shaft and collar

I just went straight to the delrin gears with the SDG sprag hub. You just need to open the holes slightly in the auto rotation shaft to do this. As the SDX uses 3.5mm bolts instead of 3mm on the evo.

what did you use to enlarge the holes for the 3.5mm screws? for when i decide to change to delrin gears in the future the sdx is simply the best 50size heli for me

I used a dremel with a very small tapered bit and slowly open the holes while checking with the bolt as you go! You will need to use the round spacers out of the sdx second gear in place of the sdg ones. They are slightly longer and protrude a little but its not a problem!
