Now this is what I've been waiting for!
I might have to give this a try. Looks like the same blade grips.
I think the blade grips are new as well because they have longer control arms which are needed for a flybarless setup.

Come on baby, I just can't wait for Cutis's new Flight Control system to be available for a perfect complement for his new flybarless head.

Thanks for the heads up Brian, you are the man....

The blade grips are mounted with the ball link on the leading edge per the manual. And the blade grips are a different part number and design.

With the FBL blades grips in this orientation, the Next D label is facing down.
The new FBL blade grips should have the label painted, so that it faces up.

That was a mistake in manufacturing. We did not feel it was a big enough mistake to trash all of the blade grips. If we had the head would still not be available for a while.Build it, fly it, crash it. Repeat as often as needed.

The FB Rave w/350mm blades is almost like flying a TREX 500.
But as with most FB 450 size Helis, they a are very affected by rotor torque and requires a lot of extra attention to maintain its orientation during maneuvers.
For example doing stationary flips or tic-tocs will usually require a lot of aileron adjustment, to maintain its orientation.

With the FBL head and electronic flybar, you get heading hold on your pitch and roll axis. This almost eliminates the affect of rotor torque.
When executing stationary flips or tic-tocs, there is almost no aileron correction required to maintain orientation during the maneuver.

I was flying in 13 mph gust yesterday, and it handled the wind amazingly well. It was easy to enjoy flying it, instead of fighting to maintain control of it.

Lipo mounting
BlackTitanium,

Thatis an interesting way to mount the battery, this is for better CG?
Can you show close it the mod to get this done.

Did you try the Guai 450 FBL head before you use the Rave FBL head? If yes, how you find the switch to rave FBL ?

I am waiting for my LHS to get it in. It have been delay two weeks..

jyzoom,
The 4 cell LiPo is mounted vertical for better CG.
It is still a slight nose heavy, but the Skookum SK360 manual recommends a slight nose heavy setup, so it works out great.

I simply used a pair of scissors to cut the CF frame,
rotated the battery tray into a vertical position.
There is already a pre-drilled hole in the CF frame for
mounting the battery tray vertical.

I did not try the Gaui FBL head. I waited for the Rave FBL head.
