Why dont they have this yet
Why doesn't any company make an electronic needle for nitro engines that senses the temp of the head and changes the needles automatically to tune the engine and don't tell me carbsmart because while thats the start its not an auto tuning needle i mean and actual engine with electronic tuning built in whoever does it first gets all the money get on it!

It's been done. OS had the 140RX-I with electronic fuel injection. It made a ton of power, but when something failed, it failed big.Nick Crego

im sure the technology exists to do this easily just make the default on failure full open or a user set fail setting and nothing will go wrongVelocity 50 "99.9999999999999% of an atom is empty space." also 01001000 01001001

sure the technology exists just look at a turbine engine my question is do you want to pay $2500 for a nitro eng and if you do would there be enough people who will to do too and get a MFG to produce it.CRASH! GLUE! REPEAT!

it would prolly cost an extra 70$ or so to do and they can sell it as an aftermarket upgrade so sure theres a market wouldn't you love it if your motor sensed the air temp and humidity and automatically adjusted the engine before startup? like a 20 second delay like gyro initializationVelocity 50 "99.9999999999999% of an atom is empty space." also 01001000 01001001

If they could do it for $70 it would have already been done IMO!

it would take a control system a temp sensor an exhaust sensor and a mechanism to adjust the screw. so it would not be universal it would be engine specific.

with that being said I agree it would be cool but pricey.
Just go get a turbine it already does all that and sound cool too

Yeah, a turbine is the answer. Plus, you can only do this with a turbine, I don't care how fancy your glow engine is.

I wouldn't want it. There are just too many variables to rely on some technology to get it right. Its just one more thing to go wrong. And ass mentioned above, it would push the cost of engines up significantly for something that you can do yourself.Procrastinators of the world unite ... tomorrow.

you can also fly without a gyro and a governor those things make it more complicated! or eccpm or lithium the list goes on its not whether you can fly without it its whether it would be better for most to have it the answer is yesVelocity 50 "99.9999999999999% of an atom is empty space." also 01001000 01001001

You just defeated your own argument for having one?
if you can fly without those things why should we need it?

specially when the Carbsmart type devices do it so well anyway and keeps its optional and compatible with any engine.

$70 to sell? Or $70 to make? Big difference. I could see something like that costing $70-$100 to make which means it would sell for a few times more than that. For the sake of argument, let's say $300. WOuld you still buy it then?

I'm probably off on my numbers, but selling for $70 probably means it's costing at most $35 to make. I don't see anything like that happening for $35 or less.

ok well lets say it costs as much as a gyro to buy would you buy it for the sake of auto tuning your engine? i know i wouldVelocity 50 "99.9999999999999% of an atom is empty space." also 01001000 01001001
