JR Vibe 90 t/r control problem, need help desperately... I have a JR vibe 90 w/ OS 91 hyper non pumped with dual plug viper head, high voltage with 8717s on cyclic and throttle Spektrum AR7100R for a receiver, 770 and 8900 on the tail with Radix 710s and Radix 105s on the tail. I acquired the heli last year in a trade and tore the entire thing down replacing most of the bearings and drive components (main gear, spur gear, torque tube, t/r shaft and gears and clutch. I was running the logitech gyro and servo but I could not get the t/r to hold properly. It would creep even in a hover regardless of setup and gain. Finally i went with the 770 and 8900 and are experiencing the same problem, the tail seems to creep regardless of setup and gains. I tried every kind of gyro tape, I switched to the Align tape this morning with the sandwiched damper plate and still no luck, I tried gain up until heli hunted violently and i tried low until it wouldn't hold well at all. Almost seems as if there is some kind of vibration that I can't nail down. motor seems to be tuned right and head seems balanced rather well, i noticed a little lateral play in the KSJ flybar cage, but no more than a lot of other helis fly with, t/r pitch linkage is silky smooth and slop free. please help any suggestions appreciated. I'm starting to get very discouraged and I'm pondering moving to the TREX 700, please help me not loose faith in JR. thanks |

Is the linkage smooth throughout the travel? Any chance the tail bearings are failing under load?? Why were the components replaced? Was it crashed??Team MikadoUSA 480XXTreme, 550SX, 600SX, 700XXTreme, 800XXTreme!! |

lol dont go to a 700 It can be fixed I had a similar issue with mine at first... I am running the Futaba GY611. I had an issue with hunting and then a slow drift. First off make sure that you servo is perfectly centered and the arm is at 90. I think that was part of my problem. Then make sure your tail blades are perfectly zero'd out and the bell crank is perfectly at 90. That seemed to stop the drift more than anything. Also my engine was running a little rich and leaned it out a tad more and all my problems were solved.Wheres the gyro mounted at? |

the linkage is silky smooth throughout the travel range, probably smoother than the rest of my helis. the 770 is mounted on the top shelf up front, when you say center the linkages, then you must only fly heading hold, i have mine with a few degrees of pitch to fly neutral in rate. should i just center the t/r and fly it in HH? |

the bearing were replaced when i got the heli, the guy i traded with told me it was perfect, but as i went through it i noticed certain things were way off, the tail rotor was dragging because he had the drive train assembled wrong, then i found the bearings a little notchy around the main shaft which told me it probably was crashed at one time |

Okay I was just making sure it wasnt mounted on top of the servos. I had mine like that and had to move it because they would flex a little.I have always run in HH hold never saw a reason not to. Im no pro but that maybe part of it, if you have it you have it a few degrees out when it initializes and then flip into heading hold that may cause a problem.Does it initialize when you have it in rate more or just it always goes back to the same spot you had it set? |

I always initialize in HH, I was told by someone a few weeks ago to make sure i set it up in rate before using HH. I know that there are some gyros that are tricky like that. |

I used the 770 in the past and it was a little tricky to get setup at first but once its set damn it holds well. When I did the setup on it I just took the control arm off turn the heli on in heading hold mode and then placed the arm on so its perfectly 90. Then just adjusted to the gain to get rid of the wag.I actually had to move the ball link in on my vibe 50 to increase the resolution. On the vibe 90 you cant do that because it will hit the main gear. What radio are you using and what are you gain settings? |

a lean or rich motor can cause it to drift I never used a 770 gyro I only used 601 solid G's so i can't help you there what's your head speed and do you see any vibration

I'm using the 9303 2.4, i was using a 770 and 8900 on my vibe 50 with no problems until the servo crapped out, now its on its way to Horizon, would poor gear mesh cause any problems as far as t/r control |

I would imagine that if its to tight it will run in, and if its too loose that you would be destroying the crown gear. |

if the gears are to tight i would possable to loose it would destroy the crown gear.is the same 8900 servo you sent to HH ? |

just a thought have you this gyro in another heli? if so any problems ? if not maybe switch gyro just to rule out that and or put that gyro in a another heli i know it's not the heli unless it has bad vibes motor lean rich or something loose broke you ruled most of them out so what leftlike i said before i never had a 770 so i'm lost there but there's is something wrong with the setup somewhere sorry i couldn't more i know getting a 700 wouldn't help

actually, it was on a different heli and it worked fine, however, two different gyros on the same vibe 90 with the same problem. |

That usually means you have a mechanical problem. Is it possible you have one of the thrust bearings in backwards???Team MikadoUSA 480XXTreme, 550SX, 600SX, 700XXTreme, 800XXTreme!! |

Re bind the receiver to the radio , this will 99% of the time cure a slow drift when nothing else will. |
