Racers Edge SC2000 / Connection break
I'm trying to charge a NiCd, 9.6V 700mAh (Airtronics RDS8000) with my new Racers Edge SC2000 charger.

Settings:
NiCd sensitivity D Peak -> Default
Capacity Cut-OFF 2000mAh
NiCd charge -> Manual / Current -> 1.0A
NiCd Discharge -> 1.0A / 8.8V

I always get "CONNECTION BREAK" error

What I'm I doing wrong?

Well, I don't know about the connection break error, but you are trying to charge a 700MAh pack at well over 1C, which it will not tolerate. Try charging at more like .2 amps and see if it works better . . .

A lot of chargers will give a "connection break" error if the voltage rises too much while charging, which can happen from a disconnected lead, or trying to pound too much current into a battery that can't take it, and that is my suspicion here . . . .

Problem solved

The unit was defective, Nick at NDHELI replaced it right away.

Thanks
