Canopy Grommets

Hi All,

Hey, I've been fighting these tight canopy grommets for a year now with my 500 and now on my 600 too. I didn't pay much attention to it until I just noticed that the tight grommets are cracking my paint.

I've replaced the stock grommets with Align grommets (H60149). It's much, much better, but they're not a perfect fit. Does anyone have a better solution?

Keep 'em flying.

I put a little tri-flow on them every so often. It makes them go on and come off easier......RonTeam MikadoUSA 480XXTreme, 550SX, 600SX, 700XXTreme, 800XXTreme!!

Ha, the guys around here change their trex grommets out for the mikado ones. The align ones tear really easy, and tend to wear quickly.

I just put a drop or two of silicone oil on the grommets and they slide on easily, yet hold firmly.
Re-apply every 100 flights or so.

hey? I never had a problem with stock canopy rubbers, but i pull it off with my finger behind the canopy rubber.

I normaly re`enforce the canopy around the grommet hole.
2" square fiberglass mat and resin, then re`drill the grommet hole.
gives me a nice solid area to put my fingers on when i pull it off.
But i still also put a bit of lube on the grommets.
