In the owners manual, it says the slot should be at the middle.

Needle Settings: High Speed: 2 turns out from fully closed
Mid Range: 1/2 turns open
Mixture Control (low speed): indentation on screw
head straight up and down (vertical)If it does not fly, who needs it?
