Novarossi prices?
Ok so I've been checking out websites and such because I'm itching to get a bigger bore engine (currently have two YS50). I'm also considering the YS56 (not out yet) but not the OS55 (don't want an OS engine again).

To my shocking surprise, all the websites I checked, list the price for the new 57HR 3D at 245€... I'm sorry but are those guys completely insane or is Novarossi completely out of reality? I can get a YS50 for 185€ and a Hyper for €140. Is the 57HR 3D made out of gold to justify an price increase of over €100 (thats +US$140) in comparison to an OS hyper?

People, get real! Considering that the 57HR works best with a pipe nobody has (and has to buy from Novarossi also) we are looking at 245€ + 90€... thats only like 335€ total plus shipping!

I'm not giving US $467 Dollars for a 50 sized engine and muffler combo no matter how good it looks.

I'm also concerned about spare parts and their price... I have not found any (which is already bad) but I saw a conrod for a 3.5cc novarossi engine costing $50...

Tony

PS - Just found a Hyper at 119€... jeez

I completely agree. That much money for a two stroke is nuts. That is more than most 50CC gas engines!

I don't see the NovaRossi in the line up really..
It's either:
TT .53 or
OS .55 or
YS .56.

At least the YS has regulated fuel flow which is a $40 justification in price.

True. At least I will be sure the 56 is more powerful than my 50 which is a beast already.

true. I can't wait for the YS56.

Building my second Vibe 50 and I'm going to put a YS50 in there for now and try an Outrage 50 pipe instead of the Align pipe on Vibe 50#1 .

Novarossi has always been crazy expensive.Look at there .12 and .21 onroad motors.I payed 525.00 for my .21 cordoba. But the new flash.21 is rediculous!I think you can get them from other places for around 725Novarossi will drive the price of motors up unless nobody buys them.I would like to see grp make some heli motors.I haven't seen another motor that can compete with grp for the price vs performance and quality.

I've been looking at trying one out and found a local place that just got them in.... 269.99 price tag changed my mind. I've ran their onroad a few time's and granted their very nice engine's but expensive..

You can pick up a YS50 or Redline 53 and Redline pipe combo for 10.00 less then the cost of a Rossi engine alone.

You know, if I had absolute proof that this engine was capable of beating the hell out of the competition and was more durable than any other then maybe I would consider it. Unfortunately I don't know and judging by the vids, I don't think there is a significant difference. Run any engine at 18500 or 19000 and you will find a similar performance until the engine throws its guts out.

Actually, in search of more power I've even been considering a 91 on 0% nitro... should beat the crap out of any 50 size. Just not too fond of doing the required mods to my vibe.

Hi Tony the big bore option is what would give the absolute power but I wonder about the increased disk loading in terms of flying autos etc. The extra weight is low down so rolling agility may be reduced. Then there is tank size and flight times even if running 0% nitro which may of itself make engines like YS unhappy. Lastly when the larger engines were originaly fitted items like the clutch needed beefing up ( i know the Vibe 50 clutch might be beefy enough )
In the end a larger engine will put more strain on the airframe and components.
The thoughts above are not a dont do it because I have considered this myself just because I have a OS 70 laying unused, and I believe some have been sucessfull.
You apparently would like more power with low or lower running costs. With the price of nitro in Europe I concluded Webra and Novarossi engines worth considering. In the end as you know I have paid up and bought a novarossi (might also try a Webra, but bought from Germany as the UK price is £182 compared to £135 ish any where else in the world :mad I think both of these options are by design more likely to be sucessfull if you go the low nitro route. I chose the Novarossi based on no imperical information just my own feeling looking at them that they are built to stand up over time, with things like the design of their ring etc. In time if it does run powerfully using a range of fuels, runs smooth and last real well it will have been the right choice for me, and well if not

I doubt you will be dissapointed with the quality or performance of novarossi. But if people keep paying outrageous prices they will continue to drive them up.Nova has gotten so bad now they just change the heat sink on there .21s and raise the price.I would wait for os or ys if you don't want to give in.

Normaly I walk with my wallet and wont pay for an item if I think I am being over charged, hence my comment about Webra in the UK, where they cost a LOT more than from Germany, Hong Kong, and the USA, not justified by higher taxes or whatever.
A dry suit I want American made is about £30 extra over USA prices if bought from Ireland, but the UK importer in Scotland put his prices up from £775 to £875 to £975 ish and is now £1040 due to the £ falling against the $ I have NOT seen the price come back down as the £ strengthened back again, will I buy from them hell no.

The engine thing though is i'm 53 don't know how long i'll be flying and the price difference is not that much for what is an important item to me in terms of how the model flys. the difference in price for me is no more than many spend on bling (nothing wrong with bling if that is your thing) so I went ahead. It is taking the chance it works out for me, but I will go with a cheaper option if one comes along which fills my bill as well as I hope the 57 will
