Align
Align needs to work on getting the 700 right before they make anything else.
As an example

The dust cover on the swash plate keeps falling off
Main gear from stripping,
Adjustments for the main gear, motor, and starting shaft
New bolts that don't strip when you try to take them apart,
One way bearing bolts that pop up and out because there is not enough aluminum for the bolt to hold down tight.
Extensions for a header tank even though some people don't like them, I do.

So forget about the gasser until they fix a few things

But Dam it flys nice

I'm almost 100% sure that real pic you found is a custom gasser conversion. Look at the frame, it's a completely different design then the Align CAD drawing.

The rumor for months has been a gasser was in the works called either Trex 700G, or Trex 800 which remains to be seen. The CAD drawing released this week confirms that rumor.

It is from Align's website, but if you look here...

http://www.align.com.tw/disbb/attachments/

it looks like all the pictures on their website, which could still mean that it is a one off custom that they have hosted on their site.

That directory on Align's web server is every attachment any user has uploaded to their forums and posted. It's like saying every picture in all the galleries here on RunRyder was taken by and belongs to Mike Ryder.

That image could be from anyone, anywhere, no proof it's Align's. Nice try though.

From the look of the cad drawing it is going to be very nose heavy with forward facing engine and all servos etc up front. that might be why the prototype is rear facing? would be nice to see a less expensive gasser thoughCRASH! GLUE! REPEAT!

That is NOT an Align Prototype. I remember reading about that Gasser here on RR a while ago. It was an RR Members ship and he designed and built it himself.

By looking at the picture (CAD drawing) the engine seems not to be a typical zenoah syle, but another make.
Perhaps they are producing a whole new engine design, who knows...??

Just go fly one and it will all make sense

no mess to clean up

most of us don't fly doing crack moves and 900mph piro flips so the power and grace of a gasser fits our style better. there are no 3D moves that a gasser cant do it just does them slower more controlled looking. at least in the right pilots hands.

no mess to clean up

then theres the fuel cost and flight times 20-30 min flights on 1/4 the fuel used in a nitro and no mess to clean up.

and oh ya did I say there is no mess to clean up yet
